The local (nice guy, didn't even charge me) mechanic checked all that out, and it was okay. He didn't want to take the dash off the car to check the other stuff, so that's why I had to take it to the (take all your money for the smallest of services) dealership. Maybe I'll just have to get used to showing up everywhere with a lovely sheen.
You know Charlie?

Figured two more estimates, wrote 'em up, e-mailed them out, one that job out on the shore of the big lake I mentioned in the other thread...be nice to see that old train car again...will take a pic if I get the job next camp over, replace the floor under the side entry porch roof, some minor roof repair, this that the other...and a four-window job here in town. Ran out to Mud Lake earlier, previous customer, this year, wants a price on a couple more windows...have to generate that list, fax it down to the supplier. had a bowl of ice cream a little bit ago...some sort of strawberry, had some chocolate chunks in it, and i poured more chocolate over it...thinking of having another. gotta generate an invoice for another job been working on, drywall, this old beater of a house in the Heights...about 99% done with the job, customer coming up tomorrow...lot of out-of-towner, summer resident customers...out to Big Traverse tomorrow, guy from the Carolinas wants a cell phone booster stuck up high. hope it works. gotta haul a long ladder out of the garage. thinkin here...seems like there's something else i ought to have done, ought to be doing...

...naw...i think I'm caught up for the moment, 'til tomorrow shines...could go put some water on the garden...yeah, don't look like rain out there. still light out...sun won't be setting for another half hour or so but the days are getting shorter again.

Just got back from taking my car to the dealership to see why the a/c isn't working correctly.
Of course, it worked great all the way there, and they just called to say they can't find anything wrong with it.
Yay!
Darn it - no doubt you were charged something for nothing. If I could go back in time, I'd be a mechanic.

Yeah, I didn't think those initials out when I chose the user name...
:hmm:
I've thought this a few times about Out of Order with the Oh!Oh!Oh!

Had a guy come last week to do an estimation on a roofing job, the guy told me he don't do roofing anymore, just estimations, as he fell three stories and broke his back about ten years ago. The guy came this morning and fixed the whirlybird.

I'm watching Van Helsing. I've seen bits of it before. This'll be the first time clean through. I'm also chillin' in bed with Murphy, my cat who likes to sleep with me. Pooch Molly just got her meds, the fan's on and things are comfy cozy. Turns out I've go much for which to bet thankful. Thinking this way helps me to forget about the Evil I must face and fight from moment to moment, the werewolves and vampires, the poisonous toads and lizards. The dank and dirty work conditions, wet clothes, mud, and blood. The worst part though is being under-appreciated in this Holy endeavor. The times are dark and exceeding lonely.
