Hi!

What do you like to cook in your crock-pot?

I like to cook a roast with red potatoes, carrots, celery, onions, mushrooms and bell peppers.

Every now and then I will crock pot some beef cheeks or cabrito. Barbacoa! Makes for some good eating with flour AND corn tortillas with all the fixings. (Avocado, pico de gallo, and hot sauce.)

What's in yours?

Thank you!

I found a good recipe in the Canadian Living magazine from April for crockpot potatoes - I think that sounds like a good Saturday recipe to start in the afternoon in time for supper (good with ham!)

One has candle wax, medium melting point, the other I think has cat stuff, you know like anti hairball goop, wormer, catnip they don't like....
Oh you mean like food, nah we don't do real food anymore, though I suppose I could whip up a swell hotdog stew someti:barf:..or um, not

I'm with PITH here. Mine contains air---and pet fur.

I do use it sometimes, but mostly just for cooking beans from dry into something edible. You can take the girl out of the vegetarian hippie roommate co-operative, but you can't take the desire to make super-cheap, super-farty food out of the girl!

Recipe, please?

  • 5 pounds apples - peeled, cored, and thinly sliced ( you can quarter then to make it easier)
    1 1/2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
a few teaspoons of water to help cook.
  • Directions
  1. Layer apples into a slow cooker. Sprinkle cinnamon, and nutmeg over the apples.
  2. Cook on High until apples are soft, 4 to 5 hours.( or LOW all day long) * I like the low all day/ or even overnight. House smells awesome in the morning. Use a potato masher for chunky applesauce, or blender for smooth.

I'm not sure I really understand this. Do you think you could come to my house and *show* me how to make this? A few times?

My son would LOVE that--thanks! I find applesauce repulsive in all ways (lol) , but we end up buying it quite often for him and The Man, and the flavor, even within brands, is uneven.

Hi.

I was jonesing earlier today.

I was craving a sausage wiener/hot dog.

I like my sausage hot dog with mustard, relish, jalapenos and onions. Can you hook me up?

Hey, you!

Recipe for chicken wings, please.

Hey back!!
I don't exactly have a recipe...I put a little salt and pepper on them and cooked them on low for about 4 hours. Drained off all the liquid, added sauce, then cooked them for a while longer(about one more hour) until they were done. Any sauce of your choice. Or just season them to your liking. They are very messy cooked this way!! They are gooey and just fall apart. Yum. :)
