I have no idea how to even use Netflix! Do you have to have cable internet to get it on your TV? We watch a lot of sports so I don't think we can do without our cable (or, if we ever change to it, Direct TV) - need to have lived TV for that! Not sure about the expenses. Our cable bill is pretty silly.....

You can use Netflix with your computer or an Xbox, PS3, etc. You just have to sign up for a Netflix account. About $9 a month for streaming.

We aren't big sports watchers either. Only things like the Superbowl and World Series on regular TV.

I guess Skimom is right. We'd have to pay for a lot of streaming services and seasons to add up to the $100 plus a month we were paying!

Yes, I love it! It can be a little "cliche cop show" at times, but James Spader is amazing in it. And we are finally getting to what is really going on with Keen and Red.
Spader is the reason to watch that show, for sure. Keen is not such a good actress--lol. I've not seen it this year so far, though--I got busy at the beginning of the season and missed the first episodes--got too far behind. I'll catch up when it hits Netflix in a couple of months :)

On my dvr:
Ed TV (Woody & Matthew!!!)
5 episodes of Jeopardy
Mysteries at the Museum
Mysteries at the Castle
3 episodes of House - I can't find him anywhere ever anymore
Way too many Chaplets, Rosaries and Devotions than I care to admit from EWTN, I'm not Carrie White's mom, I promise

Someone deleted Mysterious Stone Monuments of Markawasi - which I had been using to put myself to sleep with for a couple of years. I am beyond angry about it. No one will admit to it. Not that I didn't enjoy it, but something about looking at all those rocks and the narrator's voice just lulled me right to sleep every time.

Way, way too much stuff. Like 45 things! :shame:

Regular shows right now are Bates Motel, Broadchurch and a great little show called Chasing Life. The season finale was tonight. I'm looking forward to The Red Road on April 2. Absolutely cannot wait for Rectify this summer. I miss American Horror Story and Sons of Anarchy like crazy.

Some movies that I haven't watched but that will hopefully (maybe) show up in the Latest Movie You Watched thread sometime in the future:

Intermission
Cube
Being Flynn
Transcendence
It's Kind of a Funny Story
Saving Mr. Banks
Nicholas Nickleby
The Piano
Inglourious Basterds
The Hobbit parts 1 and 2
Gravity

And I totally left off the movies that I have already watched but I'm saving.

I don't have a DVR. Don't even have cable. We just have an antenna. (and Netflix, and Amazon Prime, and Hulu Plus.) Now I'm wondering if it really is cheaper? :glare:
No DVR for me either. I do have Netflix, and a Chromecast device.
My cable company charges $10 a month per TV for DVR, so Netflix is definitely cheaper. The Chromecast device cost $35 to purchase. There are no additional charges.
