Under your bed
Back deck cats (they live under there whether I like it or not--it's actually quite warm in the winter, cool in summer, and the continental Meow Mix breakfast is to die for) have been scrapping with something at night. Big raccoon most likely. Male cat always been scrapper, but lil Miss Kitty (who must be a fixed stray, for I've had no kittens--or, that is, they haven't), who never leaves the deck, has a big gash and bald patch right on the throat beneath...er...chin? Do cats have chins? (wrap it up, Muskie, yer digressin' wors'n Oompa), ah Hem! Basically, something damn near killed gentle Miss Kitty! And that ain't right.

Might haveta post a guard...

Do you leave the food out? Or the bowls that had the food in it?
I saw/heard raccoons trying to get at kittens that were on a back deck in a cage next door.
Wasn't pretty. Knocking it all around. They were ok.

Did they ever come in? Poor Ms. Kitty with the hurt under-chin.

No, no food at night. I have a recycle out there that something got into, so I've moved it. Hopefully that'll do er.

I wish that I had a cat. I've been trying to catch some of the strays near my house for years enticing them with food and treats. It hasn't worked. I just wish I knew how to catch them and get them to stay in my house.

You can have Miss Kitty. Come get her. Or send a self addressed stamped cat cage and three proofs of purchase to...

You would be better off with a kitten that has never been outside. Once cats get used to being outside they are hard to keep indoors.

It's safer for the cat to keep them inside their whole lives. My two cats are indoor cats and they seem happy enough to just look out the window and observe what is going on outside.

Lol, I would love to have your cat. Sounds adorable.

Did you try a shelter?

No, I haven't but I should.

Oh, okay. I'll have to keep that in mind.

And that is the truth.

Rant: I'm having a lot of trouble at church because I'm an outsider. No body talks to me there and I get jealous of how close everybody is to everybody else. I hate being on the outside. I just wish that they would talk to me because I want to talk to them. I try talking to them but they just brush me off. I've been at this church for the past 8 months. There is this particular person that I keep trying to talk to but she just answers me brusquely and leaves whenever I try to engage her in conversation. I feel that God is trying to tell me not to come to this church. I don't know why I want to be friends with them so badly. I just do. I wish that I didn't. Every time I go to church I feel jealous about how close-knit they are to each other. I hate the feeling. I'm thinking that I shouldn't go to this church anymore. I just wish that I didn't want to be there friends so badly. I wish that I could just accept being the outsider.
Find another - that is the opposite of how you should feel at church. There are people who've known each other forever and will want to chat with each other. But there should be some ushers and council members who are supposed to keep an eye out for new people and make sure to welcome them and get to know them and introduce them to other. Of course, many people just want to slip out the door unnoticed, and that's fine too. But if you are wanting to be involved and don't feel welcome and invited, that's not the place for you.

LOL. It's a personal challenge: can I make a tank of gas last a week? I do my best. If I get really worried, I'll fill it early :)
I do this too. I swear sometimes by Friday morning I'm at 2 miles til empty, but I'm convinced that's it just a warning. When the kids were younger and we didn't run around so much I could make it payday to payday - 2 weeks.

Thanks for the advice.
