Remember the Amityville Horror? Didn't they have a room that had flies on the window? and then they started getting out of control (like it was a sign of evil or the Devil)

I think something crawled into a vent right by my back door and died (like a mouse) and maybe somehow a fly laid eggs on it? (shudder) :barf:

I have been killing so many flies and they are all hanging around the window at the back door - it is ridiculous - yuk! (I am looking forward to fall and winter so it can get cold again and kill all the dang cockadoodie bugs! (said in my Annie Wilkes' voice) :cold::confused::cool::eek::soap:

(I have never had a problem like this before and it is quite disturbing actually).

(Sorry Riot87 - not terribly scary but to me it is creepy)

Open the vent and find out what croaked in there - you don't want an infestation in the walls of the house.

I took the vent cover off but I cannot see anything down there - I also read on-line under "natural remedies" to spray peppermint oil in the area so I mixed some up in a spray bottle with warm water. I cannot exactly spray bug spray in my vent, especially since I still have the air conditioning on.

('infestation' - yikes now I am really starting to worry!) - all I can do is kill the little buggers to keep on top of it. Winnipeg is normally pretty darn cold come winter so hopefully it will be a short lived problem.

It was at a rented cabin in Estes Park Colorado. There was evil in the place, at least in my bedroom. My experience was at night when I was in the room by myself.

I heard two very unnatural things while laying in my bed, first was one of my dresser draws being pulled open then slammed shut by and strong force; the second was the squeaking sound of one of my bed wheels rotating. I was struck with terror. There is no possible way the wheel at the bottom of the bed frame should be able to rotate when the bed has the weight of an adult body on it, their certainly is no way that wheel should be able to rotate continuously, there is definitely no way that wheel should be able to rotate at all without being assisted.

While the wheel on my bed frame continued to squeak and rotate, I saw something. I shouldn’t have been able to see anything, my room was dark .The lights in my room were off, there was no night light, there were shut blinds over the window, and the door was closed off from the rest of the cabin. I saw something darker than dark; a black entity that had no solid form it, moved and shifted like a cloud of liquid ink.

It was not a ghost. It was from beyond hell. Hell is a place for persecution and punishment for people who have sinned; the evil was indifferent to the character of its victim.

I felt the embodiment of something that wanted to destroy me. At first I thought the evil wanted to kill me; and I think it did come very close to killing me, I was very nearly scared to death. While contemplating my approaching death, I had several realization. I have always been afraid of death, at that time in my life I didn’t think there was anything after death, no after life. I began to rationalize if I accepted this evil haunting me as real, I must accept the possibility of an afterlife. I started to relax at the thought of their being an afterlife, but then I was buried in un-ease; what was in the room with me was not attempting to simply kill me, it was attempting to destroy me. I cannot explain in any logical reasoning what I mean by the statement that the evil was trying to destroy me, it was just an unbearable sensation of fear.

I laid in my bed paralyzed with fear. I knew I needed to get out of the room, or I would be terrorized into oblivion. The door was only 3 feet away from my bed, I summoned all of my strength and dived at the door. I was still somewhat paralyzed with fear and my legs failed beneath me, but I did manage to grab the door knob and yank hard on it. The door opened and I used the last of my strength to pull myself out of the room into the hallway. I fainted.I woke in the morning, and got the FiretrUCK out of that haunted place.

I do not expect anybody to believe me, I don’t believe myself. Maybe I over imagined a nightmare. I was certain of my experience at the time, but that was ten years ago. Time erodes memory and certainty.

This is not the first time something strange happened at this house either.

One day I was bored with my man gone and my daughter sleeping so i started wandering around my house and decided to go up into the attic. I had never been up there since we moved in and was curious. So I walk up the stairs flip on the light and turn around.Instantly my eyes are fixed on this Mattress laying on the opposite side of the attic. Right when I saw it I got chills thinking why the F is there a perfectly made bed in my attic? So I decided to get closer.
With each step I took toward the bed the air just got colder, and colder, and colder, until finally on reaching the bed I could see my breath. I put my hand over the bed and instantly just knew I didn't want to touch or move or disturb this thing in any way. Like i said this wasnt the first disturbing paranormal thing that has occured in this house and now that I think about it I may have pissed the spirit off by intruding on it's personal space. The experience with the shadow person happened right underneath where the mattress is located, just a floor down in the kitchen. So I asked the previous homeowners what the deal is with this bed and they told me it had always been there, even before they moved in. I've decided I'm not going to remove or disturb the spirit anymore than I may already have

Just typing this again creep me out lol

Related in "Personal Story, or Stories." I think.

My grandmother was in the hospital. Her operation had not gone as hoped, and she was declining. When the hospital told us we had to scoot, five or six of us went to her house for the night and to spend the vigil and take care of the dog. The dog was outside in the back yard.

It was post-midnight when the dog started his long, anguished, mournful howls. We just sat there around the kitchen table, looking into our coffeecups. We knew we should try to shush the dog, but we couldn't bring ourselves to do it. And we all knew what it meant.

Shortly after, we got a call from the hospital. She had passed away.

In the morning, we were talking to some neighbors. They knew too. They had never heard the dog howl like that in the years that my grandmother had had him, and they all knew what it meant.

I don't have a physical-based explanation. Sure, you can argue coincidence. The dog was missing her and picked that time to protest. Or was howling for some other reason. I mean, the hospital was a mile away from the house. Rationally, how could the dog know that his owner had died?

But he did. I just have no doubt. Neither did anyone else who heard him that sad night.

Here, there and everywhere.
How much time do you have, Riot? ;-D I am a magnet for all types of the weird.

Unexplainable weirdness: I wrote in another post about how my purse went up in flames.

Pervo weirdness: In the sixth grade, a friend and I were walking to TG&Y. A guy pulled up in a Pinto (it was 1976) and smiled at us. I can still see his face, he had a Son of Sam look about him. I thought he was waving at us, so I waved back while wondering why he was waving so low. My friend, who had two older brothers, screamed, "He's j***ing off!" Which meant nothing to me, of course, being 11. She screamed, "Run! This MF is j***king off! He's a pervert!" The only thing I understood was "Run!" He followed us for about a block and a half, and we saw a man watering his lawn and ran toward him, screaming. The Pinto guy sped off, and the guy watering the lawn asked us if we were okay, and what had happened. Well, neither of us were going to tell a stranger that a pervert MF was j***ing off, we were embarrassed, so we said nothing had happened, and continued on to the store. This is maybe not the weirdest thing that happened to me, but it was the first to come to mind. I can still see his face, and for years I looked for that Pinto when I walked to the store.

They do know, Grandpa. It is an inner sense that animals have.

That is so sad, Grandpa. Did someone care for the poor dog afterwards?

As far as paranormal activity, not for me personally but my friend in high school told me about a dream she had the night before.

All of these people were dying together, holding hands but it did not seem sad or scary to her. It was just a really freaky dream.

The day after that the story hit the newspapers (I think it was November 18th or 19th of 1978) about the Rev. Jim Jones and his toxic Kool-Aid. She had somehow dreamed about the mass suicide in Ghana.

This was in the days before internet so I don't know how she could have known about it ahead of time.

Last year I was entering my email address and accidentally typed ".coma" instead of ".com" which Google Chrome saved as a default. I am extremely superstitious to the point of silliness and was a little freaked but attempted to laugh it off. A couple days later I was alone at work and suddenly the lights started flickering and the radio came on. Two days after that the woman who was a second mother to me was in a horrific car accident and was in a coma for a month before she passed away...
