Truer words have never been spoken. Unless you want to commit social suicide in real life, you pretty much have to be on Facebook. I tried leaving for a year once and I almost never saw anyone I know. It sucked. I hate Facebook but I've gotten better at not being baited by trolls so it's more tolerable and worth sticking around so I can get and create event invites.

Thank you Miss Mod :smile2: I see it was confusing for him too how there is no direct access between there and here. I don't understand it either. When I saw you there I thought Ahhh Miss Mod was on! and then, I noticed the one above yours and thought uh oh, and then the third one appeared beneath it :icon_eek: which I had grabbed a screen shot of, its

The only thing I can think of is to change our passwords on there so that if someone has managed access it would shut them out. Its just weird how all are members from here , but yet there is no known way to be linked to each other as such from over there, escpecially to a random facebook hacker. :Oo:

We can do what my daughter does and make STRONG passwords like this, (excluding 1 number) .... Ball5Dashstraw17439berryChoco7late eventually requiring too much additional memory like where we have put it.

Google actually created a facebook page for me that I didn't even know about it. YouTube had 'forced' me to sign up with a 'gmail account' in order to have a youtube account, and so I used a name I write under to do that, well, some time passed and I was on a news article and was attempting to leave a comment, and it asked me if I wanted to sign in with my 'Facebook' account, and listed one without a photo that had the writer name I use, and there it was! A bare naked created facebook page just sitting there and it belonged to ME, wtf!!! so I couldn't bare how bad it looked with nothing on it, so I uploaded a photo to the ID and finally decided to put all my writing stuff on there. I totally got had. :Oo: so Now I have two!

Same here. Have heard horror stories. This is the one place I come to play , learn and socialize with real (tho cyber) friends.
I only come here and prince.org but I find that the org is very negative. Sometimes it only takes two posts after a thread is created for the negative replies to show up there.

Eons ago, the SKMB was referred to as the best playground around. It still is. Negatives happen, but this MB has a way of turning them in positives. It's like family at Thanksgiving Dinner ----discussions can get heated, but the Ka -Tet just digs into another topic. Friendships, really caring about each other, being there in times of need, and very special moderators-- that's the SKMB difference.

This is why I come here everyday. It keeps me sane and away from those pesky negative thoughts that creep into my mind at times. The SKMB is truly a unique place in the Ethernet. Sure, sand gets thrown around at times but we all tend to brush it off, say sorry and keep on keeping on. When one of us falls down there are twenty others to pick us up and put their arm around you. The mods are magnificent, too.

i just joined a few of the groups a couple weeks ago. a couple of them aren't bad. the two run by folks from here are decent enough, one of them is the biggest one i found, and while there is some repeating it hasn't been too bad yet. i also found a third that ostensibly is dedicated to It, but has crosstalk. there was one group i had to leave because the admins were kind of foul. not that i don't use "bad" language, but they were using what's generally considered the worst word constantly for no apparent reason. just shoehorning it into every post, and in the case of one admin, about every comment. no context. not the one that starts with f either. and they were all kind of rude on top of it, so i had to jump that ship. i've heard of this constant readers one before, and in a negative way, but it didn't come up in search so i never joined it lol.

i have to partially retract this statement. one of the groups ostensibly run by someone that used to be here (don't know if it still is because it seems like most of their mods got busy and faded) . . . well, one of their mods went full tilt and handled a situation in pretty much the worst way they could, and came off looking like an awful moderator and person to boot. but the other one is still nice and peaceful, if somewhat slower.

this on top of almost all other stephen king related groups being reported as having the worst mods in the history of mods - power trippy, rude, profane (not that i dislike profanity, but we're talking extremes here) and all around terrible. it sucks that i thought i could count on that group to not be like that and then it gets totally ruined by one incident.

I joined FB because of friends and family that live in my old country.
Very easy to keep contact with them, you can do video or telephone calls, all free.
Before FB or even this board, I had MSN messenger, MIRC, Yahoo msg, Myspace....always something to keep in touch with them.
I don`t think it`s dark or the devil`s playground, it`s up to you what kind of place you make it for yourself.
Chose your friends, chose the groups you`re in, if somebody bothers you, simply unfriend and sometimes block the person...
Don`t know, for me, FB is awesome, I`d recommend it to it anyone.
But that`s just me.

....I still don't understand the complete exit from here, of those that were regular members....I don't care that they went to FB, but you can't back in once in a while, like Srbo??....and I'm talking "real" regulars, not the occasional poster....irks me, and honestly hurts my feelings.....

I feel the same. I understand that some of them were upset about things in the 'Hot Topics' section, especially the political ones, but if so then just don't go in those threads. Right? The word 'abandonment' springs to mind.
