Sometimes i feel we are set apart here in the north. (Grumble, grumble) King is not a US author, he is a world author! Wouldn't it be nice if he, just like say Bruce Springsteen did regular tours of the world with stops even in as remote countries as Sweden? Or am i totally offbase? Has he been to Sweden and i missed it?? AARRGGHH! (Throw myself out the window on the seventh floor) .
Dont mind me. Just a little envy pouring out when i hear about plans for booktour for next book. I'm on vacation so have time to air my disappointments. Hope is the last thing to die, right?? Anyway, Have a good tour even if its not even close to sweden..!=D=D

He's never been to Sweden. The only tours outside North America have been to the UK, France, and Germany. It doesn't help that he really does not enjoy the traveling part of book tours.

No... Well, to be honest i wouldn't either if i was in his shoes. I'd much prefer to stay at home with my family and writing and reading. Thats life!!

The man is going to be 70 years old this year. He probably does too much stuff already that takes away from his writing. The mind is resilient... it's the body that fails. It probably wouldn’t matter one iota to book sales if he never made another public appearance. And it would probably add to his legacy and legend if King would enter into a sorta Edgar Allan Poe reclusive period later in life.

You are young and on vacation, why don't YOU travel to him? Where there is a will there is a way. There are still a few events that have not even gone on sale yet. I in fact read a comment on the NY ticket sales page from someone traveling from Sweden first time in US, just to attend the NY event.

Sorry to give a wrong impression but i'm not young, in heart maybe, but otherwise sadly no.

I see your only 52, if your profile is correct. Still young enough. I know its not easy to just up and travel cross county, but more than likely your only option. If its a bucket list thing for you, then why not, go for it. If not, you will always have his books. :encouragement:

I'm older than you Kurben, but not by much. You've made the trip over the pond a couple of times if I remember correctly, right? This just may be the last chance to see Steve. He is going to be 70 this year and he just may decide to call off these book tours as he doesn't need to do them to get the sales from the books anymore. If you can swing it then you should give it a go.

I hate that there is truth in this. We never really know when the last one may be, but I have a feeling it will be sooner than later.
It does take a lot of stamina to do these tours as any author can testify to. It pulls them out of their routines and element and takes them on a whirlwind tour of cities, most of which they don't have time to go out and see because of the time used up by travel. I applaud Steve for continuing to do these things. I have a feeling that he's doing it mainly for Owen. I'm sure he's quite proud of his son. Proud of all of his children. Steve and Tabby done good in that aspect.

If i could i would as they say. But sadly boring economical reasons say that this year it is rent or trip so i choose rent. That also a reason for during this vacationweek staying home not going anywhere. We'll see how next year looks like. I've been over three times in happier times.

52 is sadly correct. I feel, in mind, like 30 but other parts do not agree.

Sorry I could not make it last year to Colorado - it would have been great to meet you in person! :frog::love:
