I'll give this a try. I am Alexandra and I have daughters. Married 32+ years and now divorced for 10. Live in B.C. -- moved here 18 months ago. Lived all my life in Ontario. I'm a Behaviour Analyst with law enforcement for 8+ years now. You already know I like chocolate (I think you got that idea pretty early in my
joining this group); I target shoot; mostly handguns. Been doing that since I was 9 years old. My favourite t.v. shows are Sons of Anarchy and Vikings. Like the old episodes of Tour of Duty and China Beach too. I love the snow and miss Ontario very much. I have one
granddaughter who is nearly 2 years old. and a grandson due in July. Oh, I might as well let it all out; I have cancer (again) and this time the doctors are not
sure (yet) if my luck is going to hold out this time. On sick leave right now but I am determined and intend to go back to work. No damn way I am going
to give in to it. Joining this Board is the best thing I've done in months. You do not realize how many times you make me smile or laugh or think. Thank you so much; my days are definitely brighter for being here. I guess that is about it. Oh, did I mention I love chocolate. I'm told I am very stubborn; at least that is what my daughters say. I always tell them I am not stubborn; I'm right. The end :joyous: P.S. Sometimes I may disappear from the board for a while; just sick and need to sleep. I'll be back!

Man, I had to go through this whole thread to see what was going on with everyone. Including myself. It looks like I was a bit coy when I first answered it, but that's because I was concerned about revealing my identity in this Internet world. So...

My name's Jason, I'm a court reporter, and just from those two things, you can find me, but I'll be pretty darn boring. (You can also just scope out the Self Promotion section for my whole name.)

Everything else I wrote before still applies:

I live in a lovely small city in Colorado, and it's captured our soul. I've lived from the central U.S. to the West Coast to overseas and back to the Rocky Mountains, and I like it here best.

I like to hang out with family.
And be my myself.
Work out, both aerobics and weights.
Motorcycle, although a leg injury (unrelated to motorcycling) has kept me from a bike these last couple years.
Travel, whether by air or car.
Writing. I got a blog.
Photography. Like the writing, it's for self-fulfillment rather than any commercial endeavor.
Political and religious philosophies: Fact-based nondenominational.

First SK book read: I can't remember. Might've been The Stand, which I enjoyed tremendously whether it was the first or not. I remember that in the early days of reading SK books, it was generally with a little hesitation, because I seemed to like every other one. Don't get me wrong - I always enjoyed the writing. I didn't always enjoy the story. (If that gets me kicked off the forum for heresy, so be it.)
Favorite SK book: The Dead Zone.
Sentimental favorite: On Writing.

Been happily married for 41.5 years. Between kids and grandkids, I have eight bio descendants, but the married-in or romanced-in folks mean as much to me, so the number in my brood expands to... well, a number. Don't screw with them, or you'll have to answer for it.

In addition to the above, I like to cook good food. And drink good drink. I try to apply moderation to those. I'm not always successful.

In addition to the great town I'm in, I am blessed with loving family and friends, a knack for what I do for a living, and wonderful clients.

If I had life philosophies, one would be, "Hurt no one and help others when you can." I don't always live up to it. I'm trying.

In addition to the political/religious philosophies, I would say that my goal with politics and life in general is to protect and advance the human condition. I don't care what -ism gets attached to that. Whatever meets that goal.

I was in the Marines, did good work there (but never a combat arena, so hold your applause), try to stay involved in civic and professional venues, and since I'm getting tired of bragging about myself, I'll add that I am tremendously insecure, socially awkward but cover it up by doing things other than interacting with people, am pretty damn homely, struggle with weight issues, and get distracted too easily from the task at hand. On the other hand, some people like my questionable sense of humor, so consider the above comments gratuitous and falsified self-deprecation. If it amuses you to do so.

Beyond motorcycling, beyond photography, beyond maintaining the house, what I like to do is write and tell stories. Some of the people (there aren't many) who like my writing say, Oh, but you could never give it up for what you do for a living. But they're wrong.

In reality I am a world-famous author whose success is eclipsed only by that of Stephen King, to whom I do not grudge his superior standing. Thing is I am the only one who knows this. But in a parallel universe it is all true and more.
