I think s.k.'s knack for nailing real people is uncanny. His characters are real enough to many of us... I believe (that's why I sob helplessly every time a certain fave character of mine dies). My question now is who do you see yourself as or relating to out of any character or book of Stephen King's ? I'm going to give it some thought because I think maybe its a mix for me. Whew... deep breath here but sometimes I relate to jack Torrance. only a little (today)

Probably Ben Hanscom, the fat kid in IT. Because he was bullied, he was a reading person and he stood up for himself. I only wish i could find myself the girl he did.....

No doubt you'll find the right girl, Kurben.

It must be tough, seeing as your wife passed on. Don't give up - Andy was a widower and he ended up marrying again - me! :smile2:
(and he was over 50 too)

Stop what? Making you blush? Do not know the joke you're referring too.

In the military if you said something flattering to someone, they said "I will give you five minutes to stop that!"

So to get back to the original poster's question - Do I see myself as a Stephen King character and who?

Hmmmm - no I do not. It says something funny in my avatar about being the cousin of Annie Wilkes but in reality I would hate to be the kind of fanatical obsessed fan that cannot leave the poor man alone. He deserves his privacy.

If I happened to be in Bangor Maine (for whatever reason) and saw him on the street I would probably be dumbstruck anyway and unable to approach him - but I do love his writing! (very much)

You are allowed to choose from the good guys and girls too you know. It doesn't have to be a villain....
