I have such a crush on Roland, I'd have to say I'd like to be Susan Delgado for a little while at least - before Rhea of Coos got a hold of her. I would say I'd like to Susannah too, but she was missing some limbs, so I don't know about that. But to be part of the Ka Tet is a little dream of mine.

Who I am really like? I don't know that Uncle Steve has conjured me up just yet in a novel. Maybe I'll weigh in again after I read Mr. Mercedes and Revival.

I am sorry I cannot think of a character I would like to be at the moment, but I know for sure I would not want to be like Bobby's mother in Hearts in Atlantis.

She is an awful character thus far. I am rereading this and I am not sure if I caught the first time around just how unpleasant she could be.

She's not a likable character but she does have her reasons. That still doesn't give her an excuse to what basically comes down to child abuse, tho.

Though I owe it to everyone to come back to this question after I've given it some deeper though, at first blush, I'd say Beaver from DREAMCATCHER. Nothing offends me and I do so love rifling through the cornucopia of blue language (a great deal of which Mr. King introduced me to as a youth, I feel compelled to note). Also, though I don't exactly dine on them like Beaver, I do think the toothpick is one of Man's greatest inventions.
