Explain, please?
After the cake is baked, you poke holes in it with a fork or wooden spoon for a filling to then dribble down into the cake, making a moist, yummylicious confection. For example,

By the way - my dump cake turned out pretty good - crunchy slivered almonds, pineapple etc. I put cherries on the top for decoration. I allowed myself a small piece but it's not something I could have every day.

It looks sort of like this, but a bit darker, as I used a carrot cake mix with raisins in it.

I was trying to figure out what to do with some leftover pineapple bits. (A bit smaller than chunks.) I found dump cakes. And was trying to figure out how to make them from scratch. ;;D I don't use cake mixes.

But then I remembered, about three weeks ago, my daughter in law asked me if there was a cake mix I can eat, so I double checked if Betty Crocker was still safe (it is).
If you go to a cooking website called 12 Tomatoes there is a recipe for the home made version of Bisquick.

Ok....I do not give away craft secrets of Culinary Art too often. Dump cakes would work better if one used a cloth pipe bag and apply the tip we use for jelly doughnuts. Works much better than the end of a wooden spoon.

The wooden spoon is used for the poke cake. And I think using the bag would give a bit of a different result.

Hm, not sure about the dump cake, but that poke cake looks divine...might have to try making it one of these weeks. Just gotta find a recipe for chocolate cake. (No box cakes. Ew preservatives.)
I have a fabbo dark chocolate cake recipe, if you're interested :) I don't even like cake, and I like this one. There is a twinkle filling that you can use with it that my kids love. WAY too sweet for me.
