Around 20 years ago I was managing a Pizza Hut in Upstate NY and there was a ratty old motel that we'd deliver to called (no joke) 'Golden Showers'. It was one of those motor inn-type places, and the shoddy plastic sign showed a faded image of a sun rising over a golden lake.
Maybe when the place was built in the 50s/60s the naming was completely unintentional/innocent?

That would be my guess. There are a lot of words that didn't have alternate meanings back then that are used today.

No problem at all with asking questions as that's how we get to know each other and it's up to each person whether to answer the questions. The only problem I could see (and I'm not saying that's what's happening with anyone's questions) would be if information given was somehow used against that person later on.
