How long do you think until one of the crime shows has this exact set up as their opening scene? I bet it won't be a full year before we see this "special episode Ripped From the Headlines" on CSI or Criminal Minds.

Good morning.

Father of 3-Year-Old Found Dead in Park Swing Wanted Sole Custody | NBC4 Washington

(I'm limited on what I can see/search at work. Any one else know anything?)

Stay cool.
We really need to take a harder look at these cases where men want custody. Just because a person is a mother doesn't make them the best parent. Many men are being kept from their children by hateful women. Of course, we do hear many instances where children do need to be kept away from fathers, but that seems to be the kneejerk reaction of the courts to almost always give custody to moms.

The first scenario that lept into my mind is that she discovered him dead and took him to swing because he would have liked that, caught up in a psychotic break. I'm not willing to immediately assume that she killed him. Anything could have happened, including foul play by the other parent, a stranger, or natural death. I'll wait for cause of death and proof positive.

This was my immediate hope, that it was something innocent and she just snapped and took him to his favorite place when she couldn't wake him up.

When I saw the bit about the recent custody hearing, I have to admit that my personal "danger meter" peaked a little, and I would be a lot less surprised to hear if the tox results come back with something to make the mom look less like a tragic figure and more like an evil "scorched earth" monster.

But, I still really want to believe this is just a sad case and she is a good mom in a terrible position. I still believe this story could turn out that way.

The loss is tragic enough. Look at that handsome little fellow.

If mom didn't do anything to cause his death, I hope she doesn't get railroaded.
