After much googling, and seeing some truly horrifying things based on my queries, I've discovered this is a ball of compressed rubber bands.

So many things come to mind, most of them inappropriate, but, that's just me.
African Greys are really intelligent, and can take their voices down low.Yah, she knew there names and just what to say. In a stern man voice.
They don't sound like what you think a parrot would sound like.
She had my voice down. For sure. I taped her numerous times. I could not convince people that it was not me on the tape saying random things and breaking out in Andy Griffith whistle.
