We watched it. We were reasonably entertained. There was one aspect that made me go, "Ummm.... did you think about...." and one thing that made me roll my eyes and lose my willing suspension of disbelief. But overall, worth a view.

And it was okay that they ignored Last Stand. Just like the Terminator series should ignore Rise of the Machines.

Yea you have a point lol the last stand was pretty messed up. They made Magneto and Mystique (my favorite) lose their powers. Plus they killed Jean Grey smh.

I liked it well enough. Both of the newer movies were WAY better than Last Stand and both Wolverine movies, IMHO. I do get sick of him--all the movies emphasize the 'young white boy' audience too much. What I always liked about the X-Men is that they are really a team--no single member *cough*Wolverine*cough* is more important than any other, and the women are more than peripheral characters. What they've done to Storm is a damn shame, never mind what they did to Rogue! And the team was multi national and multi racial, with no especial comment on that. Now? No way. Makes me a little sad.

Don't unspoiler this if you haven't seen the movie. I am soooooooo serious about this.

Serious damnit! Don't unspoiler if you haven't seen the movie!!! You don't want to see this!! You want to see the movie on its own terms!!!

Okay, I'm not remembering a lot of detail, but i do remember that the psychic chick who has the connection with Wolverine is realtime and struggles to maintain her time/psychic connection with him.

Well, doggone it, back in the future while she's got her "realtime" fragile connection to his past, he travels to frickin' France!! So she struggles to maintain that tenuous connection through airport, boarding, the hours of the trans-Atlantic flight, deplaning, etc., etc.? Yes, it's one thing to read it here and another thing to translate on the screen. She wouldn't have made it.

And the new Magneto, struggling to summon his powers over distances, and now able to lift an entire frickin' stadium of thousand of tons (meaning, thousands over thousands) to deposit around the White House? Give me a [deleted] break.

Those are what destroyed my willing suspension of disbelief. But past all that, I like the movie okay. Better than Last Stand!!!

Sure, but remember at the start, he struggles just to project much at all. And then... well, what the spoiler says.

I guess I don't like it, either, when superheroes or villains get unlimited ability. I mean, what, can Magneto move the earth out of orbit? If not, why not? They haven't put limits on him so far.

I liked the part where

QuickSilver was moving in super speed and he played tricks on the guards like changing where the guns were pointed & things like that.

I liked it too - in fact, I thought the character kinda stole the show.

Lol well there was a time in the comics when Magneto altered the Earths electromagnetic field to restrict Charles Xavier's telepathic range.:nerd:
