If something like the Yellowstone Caldera were to erupt, I think I'd prefer to live right on top of it, than to deal with life in the aftermath.
Sorta like the people in Colorado Springs living in the shadow of Cheyenne Mountain.

In a WWIII scenario, I wouldn't have had to/need to worry about the aftermath, either. According to form, three nukes were targeted at different bits of Birmingham, which lies about 9 miles away, while tactical nukes were pointed at RAF Stafford (~35 miles away) and RAF Cosford (~15-20 miles), and Whittington Barracks (~6 miles).
Should the brown stuff hit the rotary thing, I'd be so many free-floating particles in a dust cloud.

I've got rather more chance of dying a slow, drawn-out death from Yellowstone - or any of the supervolcanoes come to that. But, given that it's already 15,000 years overdue and could easily go the same again before it spews, I won't worry until there's something concrete. (Though it's kind of interesting to speculate on, objectively.)
