    This is no surprise:

    Economic Left/Right: -6.12
    Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.69

And I would happily teach a class on comparative religion in any school ;)

Surprised by the findings...slightly farther left libertarian than I initially guessed. Many of the questions were 'leading', needed a 'depends on individual circumstance' option

Agreed. Some of the answers I gave might well be different on a different day and interpreting the same question a different way.

Hollande is the present President of France. He is the leader of the Socialist party in France. And i agree with you that some questions were loaded. Anyway, i thought it was a fun test.

I took the test once again the day after my birthday, perhaps more honestly this time. The results were unexpected, honestly didn't think I was that left-wing, but as time has gone on I definitely feel more passionate about politics and I guess that is a result. ASIO has probably got drones watching me for being a 'communist sympathiser' or something ;-D

This is virtually a clone of what I am. Waaaaaaaaaaayyyyy over to the left.

Now would be a good time to say that moving to Sweden is looking damned attractive.

I agree. The questions were terrible and poorly written.

As I've said a million times, while working on my MBA in marketing I took class after class on how to manipulate results through data collection as well as studying numerous examples of how questions can be written to be vague and unclear. This was a perfect example of that.

You do know that there, at the moment anyway, is a conservative government in Sweden? Of course, conservative and Right means different things in the US and Sweden but still.... We have election this autumn, at the moment it looks like the left will take over again then.

You got that right. In today's climate, Theodore Roosevelt would be described as a RINO, or Republican In Name Only, a description given to those who don't strictly adhere to a pretty hard-right line.

Roosevelt worked to break up monopolies, increase regulation on businesses, set aside land for national parks and forests, increase the inheritance tax, establish higher quality for drugs and food, and engaged in a huge government-funded capital project (the Panama Canal). All of those things (with the possible exception of the Panama Canal and its territorial expansion) would be a poison pill for an American conservative nowadays. The conservative nowadays is more concerned with breaking up unions, giving businesses free rein, selling off public lands, lessening taxes on higher incomes, and gutting the FDA and most other consumer protection agencies that "slow down business."

Ugh - some of these questions are impossible to answer with just four choices. I quit!

My favorite question was: Astrology accurately explains many things.

The Swedes (and Danes) got it right: you truly reap what you sow with taxes in both countries. I am not surprised that both are in the top five countries with the highest standard of living.

    I am over to the Left with a whopping -7.5. On Libertarian/Authoritarian I'm a -2.5.

Oh, well, we have also reaped some strong racist parties in both countries. Of course they would never admit because it ain't political to use that word put actions speaks louder than word sometimes. Stronger in Denmark than Sweden but the Swedish party still has 10% of the votes which i find awful. They hide behind slogans like keep Sweden for the Swedes and so on completely forgetting that you can be a swede even if you're not ethnically three generations back born and bred in the country. Disgusting.
