Yup, I think John is right. You can always keep them too until you have read #1. I would be going back to get #2 and
#3. Fast. :)

No. A thousand times, no. At least, that's the way I feel. That first one whets the appetite for all the stuff to follow, sparks yer curiosity, sets up the whole shebang. Besides, to skip it would be cheating.

You must follow the lonesome Gunslinger as he follows the Man in Black across that dusty desert, a'yuh. Have patience...all will be made clear. Eat your soup before the main course.

I daresay Uncle Stevie would wholeheartedly agree with me.

I am one that did have trouble with the first book. But, I pressed on
You say true, Muskrat.

Without the first book, you really can't see who he is. Or what he became with his drawing of the others.

Yesterday I picked up a copy of The Dead Zone, 11/22/63.

I'm trying to rebuild my SK Library after my old stuff got lost in a flood.

I don't think I'll ever have another signed copy of Bag of Bones ever again.

:(
Damn - that is tough luck - send me a conversation to let me know what you are missing - I have a few duplicates of various SK books - none are signed, however!

As much as I appreciate it Neesy, the best thing about the flood happening is that I have an excuse to go book hunting looking to replace my stuff. Not only did I end up buying those 2 SK books but some other ones I've always wanted to read but had forgotten about.

Atwood's Handmaiden's Tale, Sinclair Lewis' It Can't Happen Here, and Stenbeck's Of Mice and Men among them!
