How do you know if a book is a trade copy or a BCE? Neither have prices on DJ, right? I know sometimes it will specify on cover page, but when it doesn't??...The hardcover Storm of the Century was a book club edition. It was only issued as a trade paperback in the book stores.

Trade PBs are large PBs (softcover). There is usually a price on the right hand side of the back cover--sometimes up top, sometimes on bottom. The only BCEs I've ever seen are HBs.How do you know if a book is a trade copy or a BCE? Neither have prices on DJ, right? I know sometimes it will specify on cover page, but when it doesn't??...
Thanks for the info-I remember you saying BCEs sometimes have different paper too, right? I shouldn't be this confused! I've been looking through my book piles and haven't seen a hardcover of Night Shift yet...Trade PBs are large PBs (softcover). BTW, I still have the HB Night Shift, if you'd like it It's a BCE, in good condition.
I have one like that too!I have a hard copy of The Bachman Books, but it has no copyright numbers at all, so I'm guessing it must have been a later printing.

Is there a price listed on the inside front flap? If not, then it's a bookclub edition.I have one like that too!

Gotta hit the thrift stores!!!I want to say I responded to this post previously, but I may be mistaken. Mr.Mercedes, but I also bought a paperback copy of Joyland about a week before that. I always check flea markets and yard sales, periodically any way, but I never find good SK hard covers for $2.99
I have this one too! Found it at the used book store a couple months ago (in excellent condition!)!The book club edition of The Green Mile was the same (almost) as that of the trade paperback. The BCE did not have a price and included a really nice green slip case. It was a trade-sized paperback.
