No-the large paperback. I have a HC, but it's a trade copy.
The hardcover Storm of the Century was a book club edition. It was only issued as a trade paperback in the book stores.

How do you know if a book is a trade copy or a BCE? Neither have prices on DJ, right? I know sometimes it will specify on cover page, but when it doesn't??...
Trade PBs are large PBs (softcover). There is usually a price on the right hand side of the back cover--sometimes up top, sometimes on bottom. The only BCEs I've ever seen are HBs.

I've been looking through my book piles and haven't seen a hardcover of Night Shift yet...Sometimes. Other times, they're exactly like the book store editions but smaller.
I have a hard copy of The Bachman Books, but it has no copyright numbers at all, so I'm guessing it must have been a later printing.
Is there a price listed on the inside front flap? If not, then it's a bookclub edition.
A trade copy will have a price somewhere on it. If there's no price, it's a book club edition.

The book club edition of The Green Mile was the same (almost) as that of the trade paperback. The BCE did not have a price and included a really nice green slip case. It was a trade-sized paperback.

Just picked up an unread 1st printing copy of Doctor Sleep in hardback at a thrift store for $2.99 and also an unread hardback 1st printing of The Eyes Of The Dragon for$1.99!! Woohoo!!
