I cracked. I wasn't supposed to buy anything for another two weekends, but I went into my local thrift store (first mistake) and glanced at the books (second mistake). Found a first edition, perfect condition Pet Sematery (I don't think it's even been opened) and a first edition, almost perfect (dust jacket has one little tear) Talisman. I'm ashamed of myself and elated, at the same time.

I picked up the audiobooks of "Revival" and "Finders Keepers" today...reading that second time on audiobook is just such a cool experience!

I finally(!!) got the audiobook of Drunken Fireworks. It turned out to be quite the ordeal, (still ongoing), to get my hands on it. So it feels to me anyway. See, I ordered it online from Simon & Schuster maybe two days after it was released. They shipped it on July 6th. After I waited a week, I thought I'd track it and see where it was on it's trip. I found a message that said it was not deliverable, not returnable, and had been disposed of by the Post Office because it was a perishable item!! Crazy. I filed two different reports with the Post Office, but have yet to hear anything else from them. I contacted Simon & Schuster just on the off chance it had been returned...nope. They told me they'd issue me a refund, but I haven't seen that, either. Anyway, someone close to me found it at Sam's Club the other day and picked up a copy for me.

I also picked up a copy of Tabitha King's The Book of Reuben at a used book store the other day. It's a first edition in perfect condition, I'm not even sure it's been read before. It has a press release (?) tucked inside. I payed about $8 for it. I've been looking for that book for quite some time now.

Just purchased "Dead Zone", "Misery" and "The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon" at the local used shop for under $10. This is to fill out my SK collection. I've bought every book he has published but gave a lot of 'em away in the 80's, 90's and oughts.

No better place than Sloan Kettering. Those sessions are damn long and nothing passes time better than reading a good book. A good Stephen King book. Finished "Cell" yesterday and started "Lisey's Story."
