A 1st/1st 'Salem's Lot Illustrated Edition (2005) somehow wound up on the shelf (a cart actually) of one of my local Friends of the Library stores ($5). A believe the first printing on this one was only 25,000. Hard to find. So glad to finally have this one. Doubleday did a really nice job on it. It's a very attractive, well-made book (much better than their 70's productions).

NOS4A2 on Kindle--my daughter saw a $1.99 offer on Mr. Hill's page. That was yesterday. She got up this morning, after having read a lot of the book at work last night, and scolded me:"Mom, why did you buy that book? I had nightmares that Charlie Manx took Nick!" *headslap*

Indeed! I went right to the deleted material since I've read 'Salem's Lot so many times already. Fascinating material!

Just pre-ordered the PS Publishing limited edition of 'Salem's Lot. It's going to be a three-volume slipcased edition (each section of the novel will be a seperate 'book'), each 'book' with its own dustjacket. Looks like it might be a cool one!

Oh man, more limited edition temptations! I can't! I won't! :)

The latest edition of The Stephen King Companion by George Beahm.

Also found brand new first edition hardcovers of Just After Sunset, Duma Key, Nightmares & Dreamscapes, Cell, and Skeleton Crew last night at my local thrift store (the one where I found the first edition of Carrie a couple of weeks ago) - $1.50 each.

Thinking of regifting the story collections to a friend for Christmas. He's interested in getting into SK.

Last Sunday at the petrol station I bought the movies 'Thinner' and 'Pumpkinhead'. I've never seen Thinner. They also had Pet Sematary on the stand. The lady who is sought of the manager there asked if I liked Stephen King and I said yes and she said she had about twenty of his books which she had read.

Some oddball paperbacks I picked up recently...

Nightmares, 1979 -- First anthology appearance of "Suffer the Little Children". Also contains some other great short stories like Bill Pronzini's "Peekaboo" and Ramsey Campbell's "Midnight Hobo". Perfect for Halloween!

Shock Rock, 1992 -- For "You Know They Got a Hell of a Band". Great forward by Alice Cooper.

The Skin Trade, 1990 (paperback version of Night Visions 5, Dark Harvest, 1988) -- For King's "The Reploids" which has only been published in Night Visions 5 and The Skin Trade. Excited to finally be able to read this story!

Read it!
(it is SO good - you will be glad you did).
Grabs u in the 1st chapter. Gets right into it. I also checked out the audiobook and it was AWESOME. definitely read it first but instead of a second read try the audio. It's a brick so u definitely pick up things second time around. Then I'm going watch it on Hulu when it comes out. So i will hit all 3 genres if u will. Then save some Mula and get the signed limited edition with dvd. My 3rd favorite of his out of the 32 I have read. Just stand and it ahead of it.

Got Dark Tower III Wastelands by grant. 65 bucks. Shrink wrapped. Opened it up. Not to read but I heard it's not good for the book to stay in wrap. Plus had to check out the Illustrations.
Awesome find at a great price! You are correct- it is NOT good for books to be left in shrinkwrap- they need to breath.
