All this talk of ARCs is going to tempt me to try to get in on this. It seems like a potentially time comsuming process though
Here's the secret: go to abebooks, type in the author and the title, then click on the 'softcover' button, hit 'Search", then in the 'relevence' drop-down, click on highest to lowest prices. This will usually give you the list of ARC's from highest priced to lowest. The list will contain mass market paperbacks, too, so make sure you read the descriptions! Keep searching through the list, too, because I've gotten the last three Simmon's ARC's for less than $10 each, not including shipping. I just discovered how to do this just last week!!

Don't know if I've mentioned this before... Hubby always stops at the thrift store after his Saturday morning keyboard lesson. He is always on the lookout for sheet music/books, especially older and more esoteric ones. He has one bookshelf -- a big one -- dedicated to these. There is almost no more room for more. We have everything Genesis did plus ELP, Yes, King Crimson and Rush (we are missing only one Rush book so if anyone finds the book for Roll The Bones, I'll pay you back). Anyway, a couple of weeks ago, he found a book of Jim Croce's Love Songs. I'd forgotten about some of these. It's nice to be reminded of songs that go hand-in-hand with memories.

i had no idea you could buy them lol. i was looking into it before and there was a lot of talk of building up online presence and reviews and such. i'll check it out.

Do you blog anywhere? Use Instagram, Goodreads, etc.? If so, try Netgalley! That's what I use. It's a site for book reviewers. :D

just started on goodreads and IG, although i haven't posted much on either. been slowly building my library on GR, i've read a lot so it's taking a bit. i might need to just dive into this reviewing life though lol

ARC's aren't supposed to be sold. Just ask Marsha. :O_O: But, some do eventually turn up for sale. I find lots of them at thrift stores, too. I think a lot of them come from local newspapers that get them sent to them from the publisher for review in the newspaper.

Today the mailman delivered a very nice 1st hardback of The Claiming Of Sleeping Beauty by A.N. Roquelaire (aka Anne Rice). I got it from thriftbooks.com for less than $8 and was totally expecting it to be a book club edition, but it's a true 1st printing. Cheapest on eBay is $60. This is why I love thriftbooks.com!

Got 8 books for the total price of one Dollar!! Some were classics, like Robinson Crusoe (complete and unabridged) which means that i can get rid of my swedish translation, and some just looked interesting and to that price its worth to take a chance. Two Jane Austen (not my fave but to that price its worth picking them up) And a Golding. I got Anthony Doerrs All The Light We can Not See. Sounded interesting. Jodi Picaults Vanishing Acts. Is She any good? Heard things about her but havent read anything. Sleight of hand by Kate Wilhelm. She was a good SF author that changed direction and started to write crimenovels. So i decided to check them up. And a true crime book by Ann Rule; Mortal Danger. Have no clue if shes any good or not.
