Alright everyone, I am looking at what i think is a book club edition of Christine...however the only thing that makes me say that is that it's missing the dust cover price and the edition numbers on the inside front flap...two characteristics of a genuine first edition from what i have read...other than that I believe it is "full size" retail..price either way for me is $5!
here is an update! my HC has RED FOIL for "Stephen King" on the spine...I have seen a picture of a First Ed. with silver letters...

If there's no price on the inside flap, then it is a bookclub edition. But, the good news is that this is getting to be one of King's hard-to-find novels in the original hardback version, so hang onto it!

Thank you for the information! It really is a pristine (ha ha, rhymes with Christine) edition! I believe I will hang on to it...

Busy Writer, Half Price Books is my go-to as well for King stuff. I prefer paperback editions, and if I've missed one, I can usually find something there.
I actually am currently looking for his book "Secret Windows." Not sure how that got past me all these years. Welcome to the board!

Found a really nice 1st hardback copy of Gerald's Game and a nice copy of Bad Chili by Joe Lansdale. I'm trying to get my Lansdale collection back in order as I had to get rid of them when I moved a few years ago.

US version says Stephen King lives in Bangor, Maine, with his wife, Tabitha, and their three children.

Are there a lot of Maines that they need to say it's the one in New England? I could see if they'd said Bangor as there is one in Wales, UK, but I'm not finding any other place named Maine in my Google search.

Wonder how it got to this side of the pond.
Strange, isn't it? I have been slowly building up a collection of UK editions of KIng's novels. I even have a first hardback printing of The Shining! I have three of the original Bachman paperbacks in mint condition except I still need The Long Walk. Guess ol' 'Dickie' didn't have too many UK fans since the paperbacks have never been read! I always am amazed whenever I find a UK edition of his books out in a used bookstore somewhere and ask myself the same question- how did this end up here, of all places?

OK, I should have quoted what I was responding to as it's now been edited so that my response isn't in context. That really wasn't some random thought/geography lesson I was putting out there. :)
Yes, Ma'am - we're paying attention (really!) Please don't make us stay after class to clean off the chalkboards

Sorry about that Ms. Mod. Screwed up in the edit process. But yeah, I thought it was a bit odd myself.
