This is why I always check inside copies of books of the authors that I like, whether it be at Goodwills or half Price Books, etc. It's like a box of chocolate out there- you never know what you're going to find.
Oh yeah - I have started flipping open the books and looking for sigs - it is funny - some looked like a page was missing - could they have had sigs in them and the Value Village people stole them! ???

Just want to point out that my comment about over spending was not meant to imply that Stephen Kings books are over priced. I am currently working on purchasing brand new hard back editions of every book he has written for my collection. The thrift store books are the ones I read :)

Don't worry - most people appreciate a good bargain!

I usually treat myself when his new (recent) books come out (like Joyland, Dr. Sleep, Mr. Mercedes etc.)

Today I received in the mail (from an Ebay purchase) a nice copy of a signed/numbered chapbook written by John Dunning called The Bookman's Limericks. These were sold at bookfairs in Chicago, St. Paul, Denver, Seattle and Boston back in 2003. He is best known as the author of the 'Cliff Janeway' series of fantastic mystery novels (Booked To Die, The Bookman's Wake, The Bookman's Promise, etc.). If you are a book addict like me you'll love these novels! Great writer!

A first edition Dead Zone for for $2, A signed Neil Schusterman (Unwholly) for $2 (found out my daughter already has one of those, so I might sell this one), and a $500-$600 leather and oak Morris reclining chair for $40! I'm giddy as a schoolgirl--lol. My BH has wanted one of those since we were first married :) My job to outfit the Man Cave (his birthday/Christmas present) is begun :m_excited:
