Today the mailman delivered my hardback 1st printing of East Of Eden by John Steinbeck. It's a beautiful copy! Book itself has a little wear-and-tear but the dustjacket is almost like new with no fading on the spine, which for a 60 year old book is fantastic! Found it on Ebay for a really good price!
Arrived in the mail today:
1st printing hardcover of '2 O'Clock Eastern Wartime' by John Dunning. It's the 'Fingerprint Edition', it's not only signed it also has an actual thumbprint of the author in it! I already have one of them with a fingerprint of his index finger and plan on getting the other three fingerprints at some point. The author came up with this idea of using his real fingerprints and I think it's great!

How do you find "New" books on that site? The best I've ever seen was "like new."

Scored some nice John D. paperback originals and a first edition hardback short story collection at a Friends of the Library recently. Stephen would be pleased. I still havn't found a copy of The End of the Night (1960), a book Stephen calls "one of the greatest American novels of the twentieth century." Some day. Some day.
Please check on thriftbooks.com for the one you don't have. Chances are they have it. I pretty much never order anything online (unless it's a new book, in which case I'll order it through Amazon). Old books, it's pretty much brick-and-mortar only for me. The thrill of the hunt and all that. Besides, thriftbooks.com only has the 1980's reprint. I'm looking for the first edition Fawcett Gold Medal paperback.
20th Century Ghosts by Joe Hill in good condition for under $4. Only "book" of his I haven't read yet.

Today the mailman delivered a wonderful 1st hardback of The Wayward Bus by John Steinbeck that I found on Ebay. Paid all of $14.99 plus shipping!
Wow, that's a great deal for that Steinbeck. Is it in decent shape?
I got three more seasons of The Dead Zone series. Not sure how many seasons there are. Anyone know. I got 6 total.

I got By Blood we Live pb. Vampire stories. Joe hill and Stephen king each have a story in it.

It's in wonderful shape for a book that's almost 70 yeas old (pub. 1947)!
The dustjacket is in fine shape with only a few tiny pieces missing and the spine isn't sun-faded. The book itself has some minor rubbing to the bottom and spine, but it is completely intact with no seperating to the pages, etc. and no musty smell! Great find!
