I am but so far 1st editions I have only found 2 and they are both Roadwork. Perhaps some day.
Can you imagine how many copies of those Bachman paperbacks we would have found at thrift stores way back when it was first revealed that it was really King writing them? Probably hundreds!!!! I never even thought about thrift stores when I first found out about the bachman thingy. Ohhhhh, the inhumanity!!

Just figured you had one of those senior 'moments' like I get every once in a while.

LOL. No, Ms. Mod didn’t go off the reservation. I was commenting on your noted difference in the UK version of The Eyes of the Dragon, and specifically how I noticed they listed where SK lives kind of oddly – in "Maine, New England," but that I didn’t have my US copy handy to see if there was a difference. I then stated something to the effect of "What do they have against Maine?" After submitting my post, I noticed I had meant to say "Bangor" instead of "Maine," and tried to edit it (and add a pondering of sorts of how the novel got across the Atlantic). But I screwed up the editing process and only the last sentence survived so I gave up in frustration. Ms. Mod was kind enough to respond to my original comment (the part that seemingly met the fate of the Langoliers), and explained how the US version had listed it. Unfortunately she ended up looking a bit peculiar because of my boneheadedness. (Didn’t know someone could edit a post after approval of moderation for us restricted folk. Could be dangerous in the wrong hands hehehe.)

You've got a limited time to edit posts after you've hit Post Reply--I think it's 5 minutes but not sure if that's what Jordan set it for when he set up this Board. Thanks for the explanation and although there may be some truth to the senior moments that seem to be coming much more frequently these days, I appreciate the validation that that wasn't one of them. :)

That is awesome. I want one.

You are more than welcome to have mine if you want it. I really only need three copies of every SK novel. One hardcover for the bookshelf and two paperbacks (in case I misplace one) for reading on the road. Of course I need to keep buying them, as a first edition always replaces my older bookclub copies, and when I come across a paperback in better shape than the ones I have, or find a paperback in a different cover so I don’t look like a loon for having two identical copies. (hmmm, that rationale sounds better in my head than it does written down). The rest I give away to others who will appreciate them or can’t afford them.

OK, I couldn't help myself. I went to the Half Price Books in another town. (It was on the way to my shopping destination!) I found the The Gunslinger, It's pretty as it's the 1988 Plum printing. it said it's the First Plum printing, but it's pretty anyway. Love the illustrations. I am tempted to read it since I just finished the new and updated version and apparently there are some differences. I am trying to move on to Dark Tower 11! I also got the The Richard Bachman novels with four in one. It's an old book club edition with the explanation of why he was Bachman. I am so excited. I was going to order this online because I've never read Rage and the Long Walk. I got it for $9.99 which was cheaper than what I would have paid. I always wanted new books, but I think I am falling in love with vintage versions. My bookshelf is growing. I was so tempted to get the pop-up book of The Girl who loved Tom Gordon. What a cool thing to add to the collection GRRR! Maybe I will go back!
