Don't forget to set up a 'wish list' either! Make sure before you order a book to look for the little icon's stating whether it's missing a dustjacket or if it's an ex-library copy (although I've been lucky enough to get ex-library copies of some Joe Lansdale signed/numbered limited editions for pennies on the dollar and have been happy with those!).

Thanks for the heads up, KRF! (I don't mind ex-library copies, but then again it depends on the condition of the book :)--I unknowingly bought a couple of series books from Amazon that were library copies;-D I know some sellers DO say ex-library copies in the descriptions, but obviously the ones I bought did not!)

Brand new copy of Close Range: Wyoming Stories (Annie Proulx) and a nice 'leather' bound 3 book Thomas Hardy edition. Summer resolution is to read more of his books, so it was a good find :) I think I paid $3.99 for both. I went back to look for the PB copy of Rage I saw at another secondhand book shop, but some other, wiser person had snatched it up. Good for them :)

I used to have a beautiful copy of Close Range but I can't find it now. That's the one that has the story Brokeback Mountain in it, right?

Will tell you about my new finds later. But first, I have a question. How do I tell if the paperbacks I have just
bought are first editions? I read Bev Vincent's explanation of hard cover first editions in FAQ but cannot find
anything about paperbacks.
Hope I have put this question in the right spot ....
Most paperbacks will have the same info as the hardcover, but the printing date will be a year (sometimes less) later. There should be a number line or "First Printed In....etc."
