Aw, I liked that thread.

Haven't really had much money for books lately (I have to pay for school and a driving ticket) but recently received a first edition of Peter Straub's If You Could See Me Now from ThriftBooks. Almost new condition. Paid around $6 for it!

Hey All! I am re-starting this thread as it seems to have disappeared in the 'clearing'. I have searched for it but cannot find it anywhere. So, here's my score over the holiday break:
1st printing hardback of The Wolves Of Midwinter by Anne Rice-Goodwill $1.99
1st printing hardback of Kiss The Girls by James Patterson- Goodwill $1.99
1st printing hardback AUTOGRAPHED! of Sex Money Kiss by Gene Simmons-Goodwill $1.99

I used the search thingy at the top before to find it, like I always did before, but it wouldn't show up for me. So, exactly where in the books thread is it? Is it under 'bread any good books'? Um, nevermind..........Weird, I tried to find it last night but it wouldn't show up using the 'search' thingy when I had the 'Forums' screen up. Strange.....
....and no, I didn't partake of any Fireball before hand......;;D

The original one was in chattery teeth. You started yours in discussions. I merged them and put them both in the book area.

So today I came home with the 2013 dvd release of Giant. I have never seen this film before. The one time that I 'borrowed' it from the library, back in the day, it was on vhs and the darn thing was ruined because whoever had it before me, well, their vcr 'ate' the tape so it wouldn't play for me. Anyhoo, this is a two-disc dvd in all of it's glory. I'm going to watch it next week when I'm on a 6-day vacation. I hope the film will live up to the hype. There's lots of 'extra' stuff on it. Goodwill $2.99! I also came home with volume #8 in The Black Berets- D.C. Death March by Mike McCray (aka Michael McDowell!). I don't have any of the other volumes in this series but intend on getting all of them as McDowell is one of my top favorite authors (I just found out about this pseudonym a few weeks ago).

Today the mailman delivered a very nice hardback 1st printing of Justin Cronin's first novel 'A Short History Of The Long Ball'. It's actually a novella and was published by Council Oak Books, Tulsa Oklahoma which I think is a college press. I originally thought this was a non-fiction piece. It tells the story of a friendship formed by two boys at play and what happens to it in the contest of life. Got it cheap from thriftbooks.com!

So I bought this off of ABA books: the third (and Last) installment in the series Michael Sheriff: The Shield- Island Intrigue by Preston Mac Adam (aka Michael McDowell). Paid $7 plus shipping but it's in MINT condition! Every other place that I could find it wanted at least $25 for it, so I guess I got a good deal. Bought it three days ago and today the mailman delivered it!
