Dunno. Seems like sometimes they are somewhat accurate to people's traits, but sometimes not. What is quite clear is these astrological ages have had massive cultural effects on human society and religion as they entered new ones. You see new prominent religions replace older ones as each age progresses.

I've also read some interesting scientific studies into planetary alignments and influence. Essentially it comes down to the way the planets create gravitational troughs and the subsequent shifts in electromagnetism they create. For example, when Mercury is in retrograde, there is statistical evidence that show people are more violent and aggressive while it is happening. We've all heard police officers talk about more violence and crime and strange behavior during full moons. Electromagnetism can affect the brain. So, maybe there is something to all that.

Horoscopes are nonsense, IMO.

Oh, and I am a Leo.

I'm on the fence about it. I've seen the accuracy in people's traits working both ways as well. I think any serious astrologer will tell you that the generic horoscopes we see aren't going to be accurate and to be more so, it's necessary to be doing a chart using the time, place, and date of birth. Whether that really makes any difference or if birth charts can predict future events dunno.gif

Mercury in retrograde is said to affect communications, making them more challenging and likely for misunderstandings to occur. Mercury is currently in retrograde (May 19-June 11) Given some of the communication difficulties around here lately, I might be inclined to think there's something to it. ;-D

My sign is Aquarius.

To rephrase Carl Sagan in the first Cosmos, the gravity field of your obstetrician had a greater influence on you than any planet or star could.

And how about when the Julian calendar was converted to the Gregorian calendar? 10 to 12 days were removed, depending on what time the various countries adopted it. Wouldn't that mess up the zodiac calculations?

And what zodiac? Babylonian, Egyptian, Hindu, Chinese, modern?

Anyway, I'm a scorpion and/or snake. But you already knew that.
