Everywhere I turn ISO something new in the Horror genre, all I keep seeing is zombie books and vampire books....Can anybody recommend an honest to goodness horror/supernatural newer author that isnt on The Walking Dead or Twilight bandwagons????

A really good Zombiebook is The Girl with all the Gifts by M.J. Carey. Very good, can be recommended. It is far from twilight ot walking dead. The girl in the title is a zombie and she is really the good guy so to speak.

John Ajvide Lindqvist has a couple that are non-zombie/vampire: Harbor and Little Star. He also has a book of creepy as hell short stories: Let The Old Dreams Die. He also wrote Let The Right One In (vampire) and Handling the Dead (zombie), but he's not limited himself to those types of books. One of my personal favorites--I wish I could read him in Swedish, just in case translators are missing nuances.

If you like him he has another collection of shortstories. The direct translation would be Paper Walls. I think you would like it. If the other of his books are translated i think that one would be too.
His last book came 2014. Haven't read that one. It is called Himmelstrand (a placename) means approximately heavens beach)
