This film is an absolute cracker, it is an inspiration to people like my self who writes films and scripts as a living. The James Cann (Paul Sheldon)role in this film is tremedous and i would class him as my role model in life. My mother is a big Kathy Bates (Annie Wilkes) fan and has to watch the film before she goes to sleep. Thanks for this amazing film and i hope too see more of these 2 actors in another film together (its like 2 pea's in a pod) !

When I seen this movie, I wasn't expecting it to be very good. It's actually the best Stephen King movie I've ever seen! Kathy Bates and James Caan are absolutely fantastic! If you are only going to see one Stephen King movie in your lifetime, see this one!

Misery is one of the best movie ever when the point. Where that when the author gets stick driving in the snowstorm and he. Gets in a car anniccent when her favourite author gets taken from his car and taken to a house in the middle of nowhere and brot back to health and was made to make a novel on her type writer one of the oldest computers and when his legs get bashed by a hammer so that he won't get away from her so that she can have a story from her author inside of her house. Why dose she have a pet pig.

While watching the movie I kept expecting Annie to say "Want to buy a squirrel?" I do agree that the book was way better. Annie didnt seem as phyotic as she was in the book. Plus the most grusome parts were left out such as: 1. His foot wasnt cut off (Though the cobbling did look painful enough) 2. They didnt show the beheading scene at the end 3. And the most disapointing, I wanted to see that cop get mulched from that lawnmower soooooo bad. Pitty it wasnt in the movie.

Along with The Shawshank Redemption, The Shining, and Stand By Me; this is (in my opinion) the best movie adaptation of a King book. The book was frightening enough, this brought the terror dial from 9 to 12. It was really excruciating to watch because of how horrifying it was.

Kathy Bates & James Caan were perfect for the roles. My opinion is that the screenplay was really really mild in comparative to the book. In the book Annie was 51/50 to the extreme but in the movie she only was hot headed, suffered from depression 7 quarky. The movie omitted so much from the book that it didn't capture how miserable annie wilkes had made paul sheldon's life & the thoughts of paul sheldon in the book didn't really match up very well with the ones in the book. All In All,I'd advise people to read the book before watching the movie cause the Movie did not give out the same horror & intensity that the book gave out. i gotta say these words cause this is a misery page: Annie Wilkes was one cockadoodie dirty bird :p

Dear Stephen King, this book was fantastic. The reality of this book really makes it effectively miserable! I thought the story was great. Nobody could have played a better Annie Wilkes that Kathy Bates. This movie was great and the book was great...except for That The Movie LEFT OUT TOO MANY COCKADOODIE PARTS!!!!!... Oh, look what you made me do... Anyhow, everything was great. Sincerely, your number one fan.

Need I mention that choosing Kathy Bates to play the part of Annie was pure genius? This story scare the crap out of me.

This movie was good, but it would've been better if they went more in depth with how crazy Annie Wilkes really was.

They really needed more brutality to show how scary the book was.

I really liked this movie. The book was better in my opinion, but when is the movie ever really better? I was disappointed that the ax got replaced by a sledgehammer though. I was also looking forward to seeing the lawnmower and basement part. Great movie though!

I like this film, and I think Kathy Bates was incredible, but for the film they didn't make Annie as crazy as she should have been. -*SPIOLER*- And I was a bit dissapointed she didn'y cut his foot off but broke his feet with a sledgehammer and also the part were she runs over the police man with the lawnmower

Brilliant story! The most disturbing thing about this story is that it could happen to anybody. This fact alone is what makes it so damn scary. One of the greatest writers of our generation. Who can really hold a candle to Stephen King? If there is someone who can, I sure would like to read their work.

Kathy Bates walked a very fine line with her performance, she never once crossed it and made us laugh at her and she deservedly won the Best Actress Oscar for it! Bravo! I've never tired of this film!
