If you think I have a crazy price, then take a look at what's for sale on eBay.
stephen king carrie | eBay

I have the best condition, best price for signed.....

I am sorry, we meant no disrespect. I have seen copies going for over $4,000 all the way up to over $10,000. It's just a wee bit too steep for my budget is all...

Definitely no disrespect intended.....merely stating the facts according to the wallet.
I often see titles with what I consider crazy asking prices.....doesn't mean I wouldn't like to have them, just saying that I don't spend money like that.
Any item is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it, and lots of folks can and will spend top dollar. I'm not one of those people,
Good luck to you! :)

That's funny! My first hardback of King's was The Talisman. I had to be talked into buying it for myself by two friends who were with me at the time. I was POOR!
YUP. Hardcovers are still something I have to think about, as expensive as they've gotten. Unless they're thrift-store finds, I don't buy many. Mr. King's are the only ones that are no-brainers for me. :)

Not sure I understand your question?
Well, if I understand your OP, you have received an offer from an interested buyer. However, you are willing to sell the item here to someone else for less than the amount currently offered. That doesn't seem fair to the person who made the offer, and also wouldn't make sense...why sell it for less than you've been offered?
Your equation does actually seem to add to the price....and if that's the case, it makes it look as if you're trying to raise the bid.....which also doesn't seem exactly fair. Since you have the item listed on ebay with a best offer option, you can respond to the buyer with a counter offer.

With all due respect, I think you may be over analyzing this.
When you sell an item on eBay you have to cover the 10% cost as opposed to selling direct through Paypal for less.
However, If someone made me a "fair" offer for $2,200 on eBay I will take it, because that would be the same as selling direct at $2,000.
On the other hand I would also take a higher offer if someone made it or hit the "buy it now" because that's what makes a market.
Question though, if you wanted to buy this book would you rather pay $2,200 on eBay or $2000 here?

I was going to order the Carrie Deluxe Special Edition that was for sale (see banner below) but the one going for about 80 was sold out and the other one is apparently 50% sold out and it costs 225 (or something similar) - I do know it is over 200.

I almost ordered it but thought better of it :apologetic:

I'm sorry you missed out on it, Neesy. I was able to get it.

Edit:
I just checked at Cemetery Dance, and the The Deluxe Slipcased Gift Edition is still available for $85 and the Deluxe Traycased Artist Edition is still available for $225 (US).
....the Traycased Lettered Edition sold out in about 45 minutes or so. It was $1000

Does the link below not take us to Cemetery Dance? Maybe I am confused. I will go open an account. I would be willing to pay 85 but not 225! - thanks :cheerful:

Just sent you a link :adoration:
Woo hoo! (as you'll see from my reply in our conversation)

But I might as well gloat about it, eh? So now I have a very special Carrie book all my own! Yee haw! This is the first book of his I read (of course) back in the 70s and it is a book I do not own. I am always on the look out in the used book or thrift stores, but so far no luck.

(I wonder why is says on the order form that I printed

"Carrie: The Deluxe Special Edition - king09
Deluxe Slipcased Gift Edition ($85)
- I like the number 9 - so it must be fate :reading:

Neesy- PS Publishing is also going to be releasing a limited version of Carrie. Just sayin'. I have their editions of Pet Sematary and Christine and I've pre-ordered carrie. They're nice editions. All are signed by the artists with a facsimile signature of King's on a seperate page. Great Artwork!

I kinda feel like we hijacked Michael's thread.... Sorry 'bout that, Michael.....sometimes, we get carried away.
Here's his OP with the link to the book he has up for sale. :)
