How is your cover to Pet Semetary???? I noticed mine is all to heck, almost seeming like it rotted on me while sitting on the shelf.. I've ran across a few of those 1st prints of PS recently and every one of them either have a missing cover or it's tore all to heck. Kind of weird, anyone ever noticed this or is it probably just coincidence?

Pet Sematary cover is fair but the copy of Misery is in really bad shape! Still love the thrill of the hunt, you know?! :)

It seems to me that the first printing first edition Pet Semetary dust jacket falls is very fragile. It's very unusual to find one that is fine condition.

What a haul! Hideaway scared me away from Koontz, it terrified me.

Really? Wow that's awesome!! Do you remember any stores or businesses you visited, or any certain sites in particular?
I visited Barnes and Noble more than once and bought more books (Dick van Dyke autobiography and another book about JFK), I treated myself to some diamond earrings in a sale at Kohls, visited AC Moore's and Michaels with my friend Margaret who is into crafting. Sam's club was interesting and I enjoyed a pedicure in Walmart. Not all the postcards I sent from the post office in Newton arrived but there is a smashing pizza parlour just across the road from the cinema in Newton frequented by firemen at lunchtime. I saw several films at carmikes in Hickory during my two visits to NC. I tasted dairy queen ice cream for the first time. I had fish and chips in Appleby's. I also went to two Friday night auctions at Neales Auctions. Where my friend's house is in Newton is very quiet and the only traffic is the neighbours' cars. We came home late one evening and saw a heard of deer coming through a clearing - it was beautiful. I wasn't prepared for the gunshots one Sunday though - my friend went online to discover it wasn't hunting season but someone was firing a gun up to at least 20 times. Not something you hear in a city in the UK.

Just got home from my trip to Seattle. Alas, no King books were bought this time. But, here's what I did find:
A true 1st hardback printing of Harry Potter And Chamber Of Secrets in decent shape ($3.99!)
A 1st Printing hardback of A Winter Haunting by Dan Simmons (unread) to complete my Simmons collection
A signed 1st printing hardback of Left For Dead by JA Jance (clearance for $2.00!)
The slipcased hardback set of Steig Larsson's The Girl....... with all three books specially published in cloth hardcover with an additional volume called On Steig Larsson compiling interviews with his publisher, co-workers and emails to/from Steig. Retail was $99.99 and I found it at a thrift store for $9.99! Yeehaw!!

WOW, VERY nice haul! You hit the jackpot my friend, congratulations! There is nothing like being on a hunt for SK books and finding those nice hardcovers in great condition, and getting them at a deal makes it even better. Are those the only King books you have so far? Just curious.

Thanks!
Yes extremely pleased after a couple of months looking everywhere for old hardcovers...

As far as other books I own well no hardcovers but.....this whole fiasco began when I bought the 'Salems Lot paperback (anchor books) at Barnes & Noble 2 months ago. So I then got Carrie. Then I bought (and currently reading) IT on paperback. I also have The Shining ,Eyes of the Dragon ,and Gunslinger paperbacks all waiting to be read...

Looking for a nice Stand And Pet Sematary hardcovers next! :) cheers, T

Okay, it's not a book but I had to share- a brand new-never-even-opened dvd of Casablanca for $2.99. Special 2-disc set that must have come out in 2003. Has tons of extra stuff on it, lots of extra materials, most narrated by Lauren Bacall.

God, if I still lived up north I swear I would start a business of buying all the beautiful, damn near perfect condition hardcover sk books from my special gem of a used bookstore and send to all you wonderful folks looking to add to your collections. The place is a godd**n treasure trove!!!! Imagine two rooms filled wall to wall with nothing but almost every sk book imaginable for no more than 5 dollars for hardcovers! I plan on getting a copy of It next time I'm home, just have it on my nook right now.

Here, there and everywhere.
I found a purse at Goodwill that made my heart grow three sizes. It's identical to a purse my favorite older cousin had in the '70s, and it's in perfect condition. I'll have to take a picture and post it. It's a white, linen-ish material with an overlay of white macrame and wooden beads. Sounds hideous, I know, but it's beautiful, and it brought back so many memories. Oh, and it was $3!
