Just came back from a used bookstore and came home with:
1st Printing hardback of The Ruins by Scott Smith. (have an ARC in my collection but for some reason never had the actual book)
1st printing paperback of The Last Tomb (aka Easy Go) by John Lange (Michael Crichton's non-de-plume)
1st printing paperback in mint condition of Infinity Three- a sci-fi anthology that has an original Dean Koontz short story in called Altarboy (and I'm sure it contains no mention of a supernaturally gifted Golden Retriever or bourganvillae anywhere).

I picked up Joe Hill's Horns at the Dollar store this weekend, Only found one.

A while back, someone else posted a dollar store "Horns" find-I kept looking, but no luck...Then last week I found 3! Hardcovers, too-I feel a tad bit selfish for buying 3, but in my defense, I'll be giving 2 away. I guess I don't feel so bad after all, maybe I'll go back today and see if they got another shipment! ;-D

Got a first printing copy of Joe Hill's NOS4A2 that looks like it's never been read for $2.

I've been looking for that one :) Thrill of the hunt beats Amazon most of the time. My kids have started a running list of books we'll be looking for at the annual library booksale madhouse this summer--NOS4A2 is on the top.

Here's the place to share with the SKMB your latest treasure(s) you've picked up at a thrift store or used book store!
Don't know how relevant this is but a real find was Cries unheard by Gitta Sereny. A shaking story of the murder of a child by another child. Afamous case once in Britain. If you're at all interested in true crime books that one is to be recommended. Based on interviews with the former murderess, now grownup and has a new name. The Author manages to hold balance so it doesn't fall over in a defense or something like that. Found it for just approximately 3 US dollars in a second hand book shop in Stockholm. A very good buy.

OK, been kind of slack on putting my 'finds' in here lately, so here goes:
Bought a 1st/1st hardback from thriftbooks.com of T.E.D. Klein's The Ceremonies which should be arriving today. Had this in my collection years ago but donated it when I moved. Wish he wrote more! He used to be the editor of Twilight Zone magazine. Today I bought a paperback of John Dunning's (he of the 'Bookman' thrillers) The Holland Suggestions. I really like his 'Bookman' novels and highly recommend them to everyone and have begun to track down his older books. Anyone know where I can find a 1st/1st hardback of 'Denver'?
