No we do not have a specific goal or mission statement stated somewhere on the site. The purpose of the site is to provide information about Stephen and his works (mostly contained in the core portion of the site) and to provide a platform for fans to interact with each other.

Walter, this is a good question. I think I even had the same question at one point (although I didn't post it). I remember when the website first appeared years ago that I was surprised because I didn't think King would want one put up.

Having a website is useful these days, obviously, and it must cut down on correspondence with the author. And it's great to be able to pose a question to someone like Ms. Mod. who can potentially provide an answer.

However, I would like to see the website leveraged a bit more. Why not offer exclusive stories to the site, maybe offer some game downloads based on King's work, that sort of thing? I would only offer this stuff on a limited-time basis, though, and perhaps sparingly, to avoid cluttering the domain. (As a side note, I would love it if King somehow could post, assuming a deal could be made, that -- and I'm struggling to recall the name -- F13 software, I think it was? Imagine if that were available for download? Or even that game based on "The Dark Tower" -- hope that isn't a phantom memory. These could be made available free of charge, but I would not mind in the least paying for them.)

I'd checked into the F13 idea a while back (I think when we were doing the most recent site redesign) but most of the rights are tangled up in legal red tape so dropped it. We do have a few things that are exclusive, e.g. The Cannibals excerpt. Discordia is still here (although there are some coding issues that came up recently that are in the process of being fixed). We can't do any more with the Dark Tower as a video game as rights are held with the film rights option. We offered the comic version of The Little Green God of Agony as an sk dot com exclusive. And we'll try to keep doing these sorts of things in the future, so we're on the same page as you and appreciate the feedback. :smile2:

I think

has always met the fundamental goal of promoting Stephen King, explaining him, making him best available, informing and educating CRs as well as strangers to him, and has always done so in a visually and intellectually appealing way. I will add that I've seen two changes since I originally discovered the site, both of which amounted to improvements, the second of which was a major improvement, imho. I see the site getting better and better, as sK himself is becoming more and more, for lack of a better word, mainstream.

The goal of this website is to promote burritos and a hard left socialist agenda. As well as marginalize and demonize those opposed. And possums. Talk people into eating possums.

I also get a lot of neat Pinterest type ideas from here as well. Just last week I found a nifty fried brains recipe.
