Thank you, HollyGolightly! A bit later I'll post a selection of my King-inspired works. For the most part, these pieces are old and I clearly lacked skills then, but they're not so bad :)
Ah, what the hell. I had a sleepless night, following the news and biting my fingernails, so another couple of minutes won't do any difference :)

This is my very first SK illustration and, I believe, my second more or less serious drawing. Meaning, I've been trying really hard to picture what I wanted, it was a serious effort. But it's easy to see that it's done by an adolescent with no training. But I still feel I could do much better, I could progress much faster if I chose another course of studies -- for the most part, I'm a self-taught artist.
Of course, this is Christine:

You might also like to share a selection of your SK-related work in the Gallery XIX portion of the website? Posts are moderated there so may take a little longer to show up with Ms. Mod being away at present.

A couple of my favorite sci-fi/fantasy illustrators are Darrell Sweet and Rowena Morrill. Your artwork is comparable :)
I knew Rowena Morrill's art before and Darrell Sweet is also really good! A flattering comparison, really :) Thank you!

And here's my first 'It' illustration. Once again, it was a very important drawing for me -- I tried to cram everything in there! It's rather small, A4 size, but I worked on it for over a year! I believe, I was at the 8th or 9th grade then.

I won't number the elements, you go figure it out for yourselves, it's more fun that way ;)
But I NEED!!!! to make another illustration as Pennywise doesn't look like I imagined him.

Hey, people! I'm sorry for my fitful presence on the board. I guess, any Ukrainian has just one thing in his mind now -- politics.
A friend of mine asked me if I'd be up to designing their record -- the cover and all. It didn't involve any money, but when I heard it's released in support of democracy and is meant to commemorate Maidan, I instantly agreed. One of the reasons was that I wanted to draw something like that for myself, just to make a statement.
So here I am.
I went back to John Carpenter's 'The Thing', one of my all-time favourite movies, and incorporated some key images into the drawings. The first one is done, it's called StaLenin. It's about the distorted, perverse shape a nice but utopic idea of communism has taken on -- now it's dangerous, it's the Thing.

And this is a picture in progress -- only 1/3 of it is visible here, didn't fit in :) The exploding building is Lenin's mausoleum and it says LENIN STALIN PUTIN. The creature that's prominent here is Yanukovich.

Lily, thank you for the kind words!
Christine drawing was done a long time ago, and I'd love to make another, an updated version of the same dream from the book. Back then I had no means of finding the image of Plymouth Fury and based the car on the image I preserved in my mind from viewing John Carpenter's movie. Now I even have the model based on the movie -- it guards one of my book-shelves.
I live in Kyiv and right now all the horrors are happening at the East of the country, so I'm safe. Hopefully, it'll end soon.
I decided to sell the T only to the people who pre-ordered it and I want to make another T-shirt with SK's portrait -- I'll make the man even more sinister, since first and foremost I like his horror works.
Thanks again! :bashful:

Thank you, Claire! :m_vamp: Will do my best not to disappoint you in future! There surely will be more King art from me :reading:

Also some time ago I finished the VERY political drawing, based on some nasty real-life characters and John Carpenter's 'The Thing':

It's the one from above! The one that was only 1/3 finished when you first posted it!
It's a-m-a-z-i-n-g, Serhiy!
I love seeing this thread in the New Post category. It means there's (usually) something new in it from you - I really like your art.
This makes me want to verbally commission you to do something for the Board....maybe for the Halloween story. Do you know about this?

Good thing you're not in eastern Ukraine, although from what we see on TV here in the U.S., Kyiv is not immune to protest or violence.
Be safe. Artists are precious commodities in your part of the world. Це від Mama Лілі: будьте обережні! Це наказ. Ви не можете грати з зброєю або брататися з російськими бандитами.
