Mr. King is by far my favorite. There is one other author that I will devour anything he writes as soon as it is published and that is Dan Simmons. I read a lot of Anne Rice and Dean Koontz years ago but found most of their stuff repetative after awhile and haven't read any of them lately. I'm tempted to start the Game of Thrones series (George Martin???) and would appreciate any feedback my fellow constant readers might have before starting that journey.

What kind of feedback are you looking for? I have read all of them and really enjoyed them. Jump in with both feet!:)

Has reading Stephen King ruined you for reading anyone else? I'm trying to read widely as Mr. King says but nothing grabs me like his work does. Any suggestions?

I know the feeling. It's easy to get spoiled to his writing. I don't have the concentration these days to read like I used to, so I don't read too much anymore. I find Joe Hill is very readable, he's much like his father in some ways. Only read a few of his short stories and Horns so far, but it's all been good so far.

To be honest, Mr. King is the only author of his genre that I have read in quite some time. I don't mean to peg him as a "horror" novelist, and think that would also be unfair, but most of the other authors I read are quite different.

I agree with you on Koontz and Rice. I can really recommend the Game of Thrones books. They are very good. in their genre. A World that you can believe in, plots and sideplots and many good characters. Just start the adventure. and you are correct. It is Goerge R.R. Martin.
