I took quite a while to get through Song Of Susannah, but I just have the epiloge to read and then onto The Dark Tower. It took me a little over a year to get through the first books- with plenty of other SK novels and Organized Crime books in-between.
Just started book two - The Drawing of the Three - I like it a lot!

Drawing of the Three has been my favorite so far.
I am not sure why I hesitated so long before picking up the second book in the series. I understand others (like me) were a bit turned off by the first book. I think I may stay away from this thread (sorry!) just in case some spoilers start popping up

Book 7 is absolutely great! Finally you will know how the greatest story ever told ends! It blew me away the first time.

Neesy you've NEVER read them yet
????? :O :O :O :O :O
Hey - I am just beginning "The Wastelands" and enjoyed Dark Tower II very much (plus the Wind Through the Keyhole, which I read a while back) (and it now makes more sense to me, after having read the second book).

They are not typical Stephen King stories - more fantasy and time travel, which I actually like quite a bit!

I just finished Song of Susannah yesterday! I liked it! I do believe for me that this novel was more of a 'filler' of getting closer to the tower. I do like that this book took us to 1999. Very interesting. I think my favorite part was Roland and Eddie taking part in the shoot out at the general store in Maine. I know I've wrote this before, but I love the way King writes action! I actually really enjoyed King putting himself into the book. It was different and clever (and that epilogue at the very end, oh gosh! ;)

...the last leg of the journey is a hard one, but you'll still be the richer for it...

This is what I'm afraid of. I'm going to start Book 7 today...but, man, just not ready to let of the characters and story. Good think Book 7 is a long one! :D

I really liked the ending. I'm on the lookout for Wind Through the Keyhole. I'm ordering it in September for my birthday, unless I find it at Goodwill first, flea market or library sale first.

I enjoyed The Wind Through the Keyhole. I liked the story within a story within a story concept. And I like learning more of Roland as a young gunslinger :)
