I've never directly told anyone to come here but I have told people I belong and the fun that we have. As far as I know, no one has looked at me funny when I talk about this place. My hubby doesn't come on here but he thinks it's great that I do.

Still have that neighbor down the road who insists I'll rot in hell for reading Sk books and more so for being part of the SKMB. Oh well----
Seriously? Ignorance drives me crazy. Tell me you've read SK and don't really like his books, fine. I don't understand, but I respect it. Tell me something crazy like that and I'm just crossing you off my list. Sheesh!

No one I know are as crazy in SK as I am. My sister is a member of this board, but she has not been here in a long time.
My mom always ask me why I read his horrible stories and I tell her that not all of them are horrible. She looks at me like she did not believe in
what I say.

I have recommended the board to people that claim to be fans. I get yeah, I'll do that. And they never do. They're loss, not ours.
I tell lots of people about the SKMB, so far almost everyone I've ever talked to about reading. I end up telling them I'm an sK fan. Often they say they like him or have read him. The only time I haven't mentioned the SKMB to one of them has been the other day to the dad of the little boy I've just started taking care of. The timing wasn't write, but it will be and I'll suggest he check out the Message Board. I might hesitate to tell him to look for blunthead, tho. He might start worrying about his son.

Perhaps if you told your neighbor you have quit reading Stephen King, and moved on to J K Rowling and George R R Martin, she/he might think better of you.
Clearly your neighbor only has a prejudice against Stephen King.

The prejudice goes to those other authors too. Wizard and magic-- oh no! Game of Thrones ever worst. Their loss.
