Liam Neeson would be fine as Roland. I still like Jeremy Wade though. He has a quiet manner, stately almost regal presentation of himself, and connects well with others but is adventurous..his blue eyes and accent... Still could see him as Roland. He is unusual looking enough and strong enough to carry the part of Roland off naturally.

I was looking for pictures of Jeremy Wade - (nice blue eyes) but could only find pictures of him with fish. Weirdly enough I ran across this one of Liam Neeson - is this a joke or a real book or movie I wonder? o_O:umm:

Jeremy Wade has been a host of 'River Monsters' (ending in 2013) . He has an interesting background. His eyes and accent and regal presence of being he'd be a mighty Roland... bit of the 'other worldly' within.

You seem to be quite enamoured of this guy! (I should see if we get this TV show up here!)
Hi Neesy...He is the Roland I visualised (in my head). Listen to him speak. He is on Animal Planet. His 'energy' and lifestyle is befitting a gunslinger. In 'real life' he is well travelled, articulate, educated and interesting, but seemingly down to earth. Do look him up, at least, you can see some of the things that ate in the rivers around the world...

interesting choices.

Ok... now those who have watched SOA... Season 6 Ep.1... the blond kid that appears every so often through the episode then does the shooting at the end... seeing him sitting there alone at the cafe and wandering down the street, and even just before he went into the classroom SCREAMED JAKE at me.Just the whole feeling of a lonely kid with a massive burden on his shoulders. Anyone else get that instant "that's Jake" feeling while watching it?

Honestly, Jeffrey Dean Morgan would be a perfect alternative to Javier Bardem

As for Eddie Dean... this man has already sealed the deal, Aaron Paul:

Susannah (Detta/Odetta/Mia) Zoe Saldana:

And Jake... this is the hard part... but I scoured google images and found this kid, Colin Ford, could pull it off:

I hate to say it but I think Susannah's supposed to be black and that lady doesn't look very African-American to me.
I want her to be the color she was in the book. If they can put gay married people all over television and films these days, then they can make Susannah Dean black.

I don't know - to me she seems African American?? just not really really dark :music:p.s. Is this smiley offensive? (I hope not!) :haha:

For Roland, I honesty have no idea who could play him. While I'm reading the books, I'm not picturing anyway in mind of who to play him. I feel like Roland is such a mystery--even after reading Wizard and Glass I felt that way. I think it would be cool if an unknown played Roland.

For Eddie, oh god, please don't laugh. But I totally see Paul Wesley playing this role, haha. I think Paul is a good actor (despite how bad The Vampire Diaries is now, but I digress), and he has a wicked sense of humor from the interviews I've seen him in. I don't know, he just has Eddie's look to me with the brown hair and hazel eyes. And despite being 31, he looks youthful enough to play a 23 year old LOL.
As much as I love Aaron Paul, I don't picture him as Eddie (Crazy, right?) Although, if somehow DT ends up becoming something in the works, I wouldn't complain if Aaron was Eddie.

For Susannah, I picture Danai Gurira from The Walking Dead.

As for Jake, I totally see Ty Simpkins playing him. He impressed me in Iron Man 3.

I've been thinking Viggo Mortenson for Roland - he can be ugly and still have those piercing blue eyes - rugged, not really ugly but he's not always handsome - Roland wasn't ever really handsome.

I agree with you. Roland is basically a slight variation of Clint Eastwood in my head forever, but he's too old now. Viggo would be perfect and is my second choice too.
