I haven't been around here long enough or thoroughly enough to know the general consensus about "The Hunger Games" trilogy, however, I found the books to be short, entertaining, and a wonderful insight to a heroines perspective in a totalitarian world. Similar to The Running Man or The Long Walk, though IMDB trolls call it a Battle Royale ripoff (crybabies).

how about a collection...Four Past Midnight...Different Seasons. What are there, four stories in each one? 4-pk. Good beach carry. Maybe find a used paperback and tear it apart so you have four shorter pieces if the thickness of the book is too much. Be on guard against purists with sharp knives. Adds a bit to the adventure, though, live dangerously.
Agree. Collections are great for a quick dip in and out.

....OK, I ain't gotta clue about that acronym...somebody please help an old fossil out?...coz I don't want to read anything else, until my novel arrives well after everyone snatches it up elsewhere-coz I gotta wait for the SK Library to limp it to the mailbox...

So as summer begins, I am trying to read as many books this summer as I can. However, I have noticed a pattern in me. If I start off the summer with a good, quick read, the other books I read will generally be good quick reads. If it takes forever to read the first book, it'll be painfully long to read the others.

So I was wondering if there were any good Stephen King books that I would be able to read in a day or two?

btw, I have an average reading speed.
I loved The Girl who loved Tom Gordon. Not very long but very good, better than Joyland in my opinion. But Joyland was good too.....
