I wanted to give up sooo many times. Don't get me wrong it was well-written but honestly I didn't think it needed to be that long. :hammer: I have never took so long to finish a book. Even The Stand which was longer was an easier read.

Then when I finished it, I realised I loved it.
When they got out the dome I never realised how relieved I was
It was the ending I needed. I love how despite everything
that happened they were just so thankful to be alive, and that they knew that their life was worth fighting for.
And when the
soldier waited on the other side of the dome for the kid, that melted my heart. It was really touching. I always like when King brings up Julia's childhood memories, reminded me of IT. It also reminded me of Casual Vacancy by J.K Rowling, the way it showed small town politics.

After going through this I think I'll take a few days without reading, and then dip into something light. It was a lot of book.

I gotta disagree on The Stand. I find it incredibly tedious to get through and thought UTD was exciting in comparison. I have read it before and struggled with it then. I am reading it now, am currently on page 380 and am thinking about throwing in the towel. Every day I read it trying to get to the midpoint of the book, which is around page 400, but it continuously mocks me and never ever seems to get any closer. I am getting worn out lol. The first 200-250 pages or so of that book are awesome though. It loses me after that.

Maybe you could try the audio-book and see if it helps get you get through? Sometimes when I'm reading a book and I have difficulty finishing it I pretend the rest of the book that I have to read is a new novel. It's like clicking refresh on your web browser and continue reading.

Trust me, I'm not sucking up when I say that I've yet to read an sK which I felt was too long or too short or too anything. This doesn't mean that I even disagree that such are possible; it's just that if it takes me a while to finish one of his books I don't necessarily blame him, especially considering how slowly I read.

I understand. Usually when I read a book I always believe what the writer does is intentional. I don't always like it though. :upside:
