Started Blood and Beauty by Sarah Dunant (or possible the before both words..) Historical novel about The Borgias. Start when Alexander VI is elected Pope 1492. He immediately starts intriguing to increase his and his familys power. Lucrezia is just gonna get married to a Sforza. Interesting new light. If you have read some about the Borgias the picture you get is sometimes to black to understand. She does a good job at making the characters more real. Can be compared with Hilary mantel and her Wolf Hall but a bit less description and more dialogue. Don't think it has anything to do with the TVseries.

I finished The Elementals by Michael McDowell. I really liked it. The writing was above average for the genre from that era and the story was unlike any I have ever read pertaining to a "haunted house." Very unique; the author gets an A+ for that! I was left scratching my head at the end though; not exactly sure I understood the ending completely, but that's OK. I'll probably read more by him in the future. Now I'm off to Amazon to see what I'll read next on my Kindle!

Finished The Likeness (Tana French). Phenomenal mystery. That's a genre that usually doesn't do much for me, but this is the third one by her that I've read & I loved them all. Irish writer, stories set in and around Dublin. Next up is the last of the Rot & Ruin series, Fire & Ash. I've thoroughly enjoyed this YA zombie series, & will likely look up more of Maberry's books. I have another book waiting at the library, but heck if I can remember which one it is--lol.
