I snagged a first edition hardcover of Needful Things (in very good condition) at the used bookstore today for $3!! =D I also got an old paperback of The Dead Zone in fair condition for a buck. It's next on my reread list and I didn't want to wait for it from the library. kingricefan suggested I should have my mom read that one next, so this way she has a copy she can destroy without me freaking out about it! ;-D

OK-talk about coincidences! The two books I found today are Castle Rock books and I just discovered a housekeeping card inside of Needful Things (probably used as a bookmark) from The Inn in "Rock" Springs! ;-D

I ordered the new limited edition of Faithful on Friday- just couldn't say anything till today as the email from Cem Dance asked us not to let the word out.

I've decided to pass on that one. If it were signed by King, I'd grab it (if I could afford it) but...

I've also passed on all the King Anniversary editions coming out from CD and PS. None are signed by King. I did get the IT and The Shining Anniversary editions because they were signed by King.

Nope kingricefan it's not gonna work.
I just got to the part where
the traveling salesman kills the farm dog. My mom is as sensitive to animal cruelty as I am. I get really upset, yet know King writes these things into his novels to accurately portray the ugliness of human nature, but my mom is new to his books and might never forgive him!
Any other suggestions come to mind?

Bag Of Bones? I can't remember which one was the first one that she read. Eyes Of The Dragon?

Bag Of Bones is my favorite book and was the first SK novel I convinced her to read-she loved it. Next was 11/22/63-she had more difficulty with this one, I think mainly because it's so incredibly involved and she read it over a long period of time. I remember liking Duma Key a lot-I think SK's newer novels might be a good idea. Thoughts?? Let me know if I'm forgetting any harsh animal scenes!!!

I wouldn't load her down with the 'big' novels right now. She might feel intimidated by the size (that's what she said!!!!;;D sorry, I gotta joke when I can) and not want to really delve into the story. Thinner?

Heres my killer deal of the week. I got 36 SK Library Book club editions for $100. Does anyone know how many of these red covers that there were.
