I actually miss taking that journey. I read Gunslinger when it came out and would re-read it over and over waiting for the next one to come out. All those years of waiting and wondering about the next installment are greatly missed.
I know what you mean. I actually read Wizard and Glass first (In a hurry in the book shop, going on holiday, and did not see it was part of a series *blush* ), and then started from the start :)

Welcome. If you get a chance, read The Dark Tower series. The whole series contains some of the best books ever written imho.

I am Norwegian, so I understand Swedish well. :)

Welcome Swede74 I am from your neighbor country Finland. I have cousins in Sweden and been there myself couple of times.

I understand Norwegian fairly well, but know only three words in Finnish: Yksi, kaksi, kolme. Although I've never heard either of you speak Swedish, I just know that if I did, I'd envy you both for your beautiful accents. My own accent is a speech impediment.

I made an honest attempt with The Wind Through the Keyhole last year, but it just didn't speak to me. You can teach old dogs new tricks though, so maybe I'll give it another chance someday.

Try starting with The Gunslinger. I was very confused after starting in the middle, and read Wizard and Glass again after the 3 first books. It made more sense the second time :p

I don't know if I would call my accent beautiful, but at least people understand what I say :)
