She was good but there's just something missing from the movie. The first scenes where they show the creature drinking whatever it was and going into the water really makes no sense. Charleze Theron is just wooden in her acting. By showing the origins of the aliens it ruins the mystery that is (was) present in the first Alien movie.
Totally agree about Theron. I was impressed by her in Monster but since then... I don't know if i remember any movies with her. About the mystery that was rather on the table from the beginning i think. Wasn't it marketed as a prequel where we would get the answer to where the bad boys we all love came from. I only wish they could have done it a bit better.

About two years ago I saw The Goonies at this local theater called The Bardavon, that occasionally shows classic/cult movies. It was a fun experience! It was great seeing other fans of the movie getting into it and laughing at all the memorable parts and hearing them say lines from the movie. I remember everyone clapped when Chunk first appears, haha.

Going to see Jaws on the big screen on 9/1!

Saw NOTLD last week. Will be going to see They Live on 9/6!

Can't wait to see what the Halloween marathon flicks are going to be!

If you live in MA do yourself a favor and check out the Coolidge Corner Theater :)

So, I have been lucky enough to find a theater in my home town that screens cult and classic movies on a fairly regular basis. If you live in the Boston area check out Coolidge Corner Theatre Foundation. It's the website for the Coolidge Corner Theater in Brookline. The @ftermidnight and big screen classics programs are pretty sweet. Within the last few months I've seen:

Escape from New York
The Thing
Big Trouble in Little China
The Warriors

(Yes, I have a bit of a John Carpenter addiction)

Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Night of The Living Dead are playing there soon. Also have Blazing Saddles and Jaws coming up.

On Halloween they usually have a horror movie marathon that runs like twelve hours. Haven't done that yet but might this year.

Anyone else lucky enough to have something like this in their hometown?
If you have a "John Carpenter addiction" then you must have loved "Christine"
