Delivery Man....it was okay. A few funny parts but otherwise, just one of those feel good holiday movies. The wife loves Vince Vaughn because she likes people that are smarty-pants. A big reason I was able to dupe her into marrying me.

That movie scarred me for life!I'm watching Jaws . . .the big azz fish effects for that time is just damn great. Dat's a big azz fish!
The very first time I saw it was at the drive-in and I swear . . .that fish made me jump! That movie scarred me for life!

And it has the best line -- famous of course -- "You're going to need a bigger boat." I laughed. The very first time I saw it was at the drive-in and I swear . . .that fish made me jump!
That "fish" has been in every body of water I've ever encountered (including my bathtub!) for as long as I can remember! (I saw the movie waaaaay too young I'm thinking!)

I love the scene where the three guys are showing off their scars, it's funny till 'Quint' tells them how he got his, right????And it has the best line -- famous of course -- "You're going to need a bigger boat." I laughed.
Oh I know. Can you imagine that happening to people in real life? Floating in the water, getting picked off.I love the scene where the three guys are showing off their scars, it's funny till 'Quint' tells them how he got his, right????
The 'story' he told is actually a real event. Can't imagine the terror those poor men felt! Horrible!Oh I know. Can you imagine that happening to people in real life? Floating in the water, getting picked off.
Yes, I know. Can you imagine being in the water and having sharks circling all those men, waiting to see who was going to get grabbed under next. What a horrifying experience. The 'story' he told is actually a real event. Can't imagine the terror those poor men felt! Horrible!
I think the Canadian Embassy was a lot more involved in that rescue than was shown but it was kept all hush, hush for security reasonsArgo - I loved it. This sure did bring back some memories of what was going on at the time. I was 19-20 years old when this was going on. This is the first that I've heard of the Canadian movie angle, though. Good stuff.
I'm sure this story is "enhanced" for a movie audience but I think it is reasonably accurate.

Have not seen the movie but I will be sure to watch it at Christmas once my husband returns home. I am just going by what I remember of the actual event (in real life)The Canadians in the embassy risked their lives to hide those 6 Americans. Every one of the Canadians would have been killed if the Iranians found out the Americans were there.
