I remember reading somewhere that this story was published by SK in a magazine before this collection came out. Can someone please refresh my memory as to when and which magazine please.

When I google Stud City I don't get anything about a story.
You are a brave man.....
It's from The Body--one of Gordie Lachance's stories.Maybe I am missing something, but there is no story in Different Seasons (the forum you posted this on) titled Stud City. ???
It was first printed in Ubris in the fall of 1969. Ubris was a student literary magazine published by the University of Maine where Stephen was a student.I remember reading somewhere that this story was published by SK in a magazine before this collection came out. Thank you! I had the storyline running through my head, but was thinking I must be wrong--that it sounded more like something Paul would write in Misery than a SK story. HAHAHA! Now we know: Geordie LaChance used Paul Sheldon as his pseudonym in his later lifeIt's from The Body--one of Gordie Lachance's stories.

I'd have to find a copy (I think we have one in our archives here at the office) to compare them as I've never read it but I'll be on vacation next week and don't think I'll have time to do that today. Chances are very good that I won't remember this, so feel free to remind me. That is, of course, unless someone else knows the answer and can post that.Thank you for the answer and sorry for not being more clear in my question. One more question if it's not too much trouble. Is the version published first in 1969 very different from the version Gordy "wrote"?
...just have one of the sub-basement minions work on it while you're away...after all, they're between producing stories for Steve at the moment....I'd have to find a copy (I think we have one in our archives here at the office) to compare them as I've never read it but I'll be on vacation next week and don't think I'll have time to do that today.
