Here's an article over at Deadline talking about a deal with Cell.

John Cusack And Samuel L. Jackson Thriller ‘Cell’ Acquired For U.S. By Clarius | Deadline

Help me out with this. Does this mean the movie won't necessarily get a super-wide release, considering the studio that did the deal is not a Warner Bros. or a Paramount? Will it be a hybrid VOD-theatrical? Or will it just be VOD?

I would have to assume this gets into at least 2000 theaters given Cusack's/Jackson's participation.

That did seem a little strange, didn't it? Given the two leads, it would seem to be a shoe-in for wide release. Though I'm not nuts about the casting, I do want to see it, as I thoroughly enjoyed that book.

I'm the opposite-- didn't care for the book, but I love the cast. Will definitely be seeing this one when it comes out.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Cell. I'm almost kinda getting tired of all the virus created zombie themes. SK's idea is off the wall enough to make the film fun :) I hope the producers include a few comedic moments.

Sounds good. Surprised this hasn't been done already--it seemed tailor-made for the big screen.

I don't mind changes, just so long as the movie is GOOD.
