I am writing these thread because of i just want to say something about The Green Mile.

When i watched this movie, i was 13 and it was summer times. i and my whole family were watching. but they was watching, only but i just didnt watch it, i felt it.Anyway

and now i am thinking about John Coffef that killed for nothing.. İt seems to me; if a human is gigantic, he-she have got a gentle heart.

...I agree...and I am a very large human myself...despite the shell of grum, grouch, bluster and blow...my true friends and family know there beats a mushy old teddy bear of a heart.....

the shells. i exactly dont believe them or i try that dont believe them.
because
some humas seem pure but somehow there are evil
some people seem brave but when a horrible event occured then they go away
some friends seem real but when you are hopeless , suddenly ,something makes them cheerful and dont care about you

i talked much , again, sorry

The book broke my heart. I've seen parts of it, but not the whole thing.
It's a really faithful adaption of the book. Your heart will break ten times more than when you read the book, but it IS worth it. I couldn't even breath during Coffy's death. It is one of (if not) the finest adaptions of King's work. Stunning acting turns from everyone all around. What makes it even more poignant now is that Michael Clark Duncan is no longer with us on this plane of existence.

Oh, I've read the book. And was broken over that! Can't imagine the movie.

Trust me when I say that the movie will also break your heart. But like "Shawshank," "Green Mile" was done right (whether the chicken was or not). I think each of us has had to endure the hurt and angst of "something/someone in real life who seemed almost too good for this world, and therefore has been tragically lost to the great beyond." I have suffered this, as, I think, most of us have. I sometimes wonder if part of our individual moments when we "cross the bar" isn't to some extent predetermined by the heartbreak we endure beforehand when we witness the passing of others that seem "almost too good to be here." From my previous statements on this reply, you see that I do not limit those "special ones" to humans. I'm a retired geologist, you see. And geologists have a tendency to "see the longer view." That which comprises our physical bodies has been "recycled" countless times, and will be countless more as cosmic wheels grind inexorably on. What atoms and molecules of "us" will be incorporated into something else next? Will part of us become someone's beloved pet pooch, who will go on to save its master from some as yet unknown future calamity? Naturally, our future "incorporations" in future lives may be nasty at times, also. But it's cool thinking about all the good that each of us will do as bits and pieces of countless future lives, be they human or not.

I have seen bits and pieces of this movie. More than likely, I've seen the whole thing -- just not at one sitting. It gets too intense for me, and I end up walking away. Someday I will sit down and watch it from beginning to end without interruptions.

It's a movie that I can watch anytime. It's just hat good.

But there are two parts that I always skip through, and they're the frying scenes. Just don't need to watch that again and again.

It's a great movie! One of my favorite. I agree that this story is sad but I can't stop watching The Green Mile every year. And every year I'm depressed because of the injustice I saw in this movie...
